taking it with a large meal (well maybe not too large) may help. Nothing is going to really prevent GI upset with NSAIDS. How about taking tylenol instead-depending on your type of pain it might work.

Hmm good idea about Tylenol but i'm wondering if it works like Advil.

I've heard about using Nexium or PPI(acid reducers) could help.

IS IT SAFE TO TAKE ADVIL+NEXIUM?

If the pain is not due to inflamation the tylenol may work better. Advil is not really a pain reliever. I don't know about the acid reducers but that information should be available just check advils patient information sheet which you should be able to get on line.

NSAIDS=EVIL

However when i took Advil for acute sinus pain,it works like a miracle.So you're wrong to say it dosen't works for pain.It works sometimes.

I just took 1 Tylenol-arthritis.It help only 15%(for my actual back pain).

I did not mean to imply that advil wont work for some types of pain-as pointed out it will work for pain related to inflamation but many times if pain is not related to inflamation tylenol will work better.

You was wrong about Advil not helping pain.Just like the Ear,nose,throat doctors i saw who just filled me with more antibiotics to get rid of INFLAMMED sinus.Again they were WRONG!Antibiotics does not reduce inflammation.So my dad(a construction worker)is BETTER to treat pain than E,N,throat doctor.**** them.I suffer like 2 weeks of agonizing sinus pain before my dad told me to use Advil.I was extremly reluctant because of my SEVERE NSAIDS G.I. troubles but it save me this time.BTW,i just took few Advil and i was free of my ACUTE sinus pain/inflammation.It kinda ruined my stomack for one month tho.That was 2years ago.

But anyway Sj,thanks for the Tylenol tip.Tylenol is underestimate.
Even after surgery,i would use Tylenol because it's safe.I find it outrageous that some surgeon use Codeine and other dangerous drugs to mask the pain.I prefer to have pain rather than horrific side effects like the one i had with Codeine,horrible.

I'm still very confuse but i try to get information if i can take Advil+acid reducers.
I want a dramatic reduction in inflammation of my vertebrae.

Unfortunately the NSAIDS themselves are what cause GI issues-sometimes they can actually see the spot on the stomach where the pill sat while it disolved-it isn't just the acid causing problems so although acid blockers may help they wont prevent all GI problems eating a meal with you NSAIDS may help more.

Spasman if you want dramatic relief of inflamation I would suggest Prednisone (yes, I know everyone is now going to reply about the evil wonder drug) but, it is less likly to cause GI oroblems and more likely to have quick dramatic results. Of course you need a doctor to agree that it will help you and write a script.

If the irritation in your GI tract has resulted in inflamation prednisone might help that, depending on where the inflamation is entecort may help more. The trapped gas I don't know about.
