thanks for posting that, redspot! I watched the first one and a half...didn't have time for all of them. I'll have to watch them bit by bit. Have you watched them all?

Two weeks ago I started a couple of antibiotics that are supposed to kill MAP. I began a conversation with the surgeon who removed my gallbladder and he turned me on to this theory. He has used antibiotics to help others with arthritis, but this is a different treatment. I was interested and figured the antibiotics have far fewer side effects than Imuran, which my gastro doc won't stop bugging me about, so I figured why not try them. I am getting tired of the fact that gastro docs only seem to look at what their drug reps push on them.

I feel lucky to have found someone who is willing to think outside of the box and go in another direction. And by the way it is a much safer one than Imuran.

I will keep you updated to how this goes. It is a long process that could last from 18 - 24 months. As I stated I have been taking them for 2 weeks now and believe it or not I am feeling better. Right before I started to take them I started to get a pain in my stomach, right where I recently had an obstruction. After three days the pain started to fade and within a week it went away completely.

Thanks for the post and I hope to be a success story so I can help others. I f anyone has any questions about what I am taking I can look it up and post it later.

menegayjj,

Good to hear you're doing better. Please keep us updated on your progress with the Anti-MAP protocol. By the way, here's a link to a MAP discussion board: http://crohnscanada.myfastforum.org/forum1.php

WOW! Redspot!

I did watch all 5. If this theory is true, it sounds like Crohn's is actually an infectious disease and IBS in more of a disease than a disorder!

I wonder how old that lecture is????

Thanks for posting. I'll be keeping my ear open for MAP info . . . and it really makes me wonder if I am contagious to my family!!

Blessings!

Thanks for posting that link!!! I'm looking forward to lurking there... :-)

AlwaysRosie, our GI/Crohn's specialist told us last June that he no longer believes Crohn's to be autoimmune. He wouldn't say what he thinks it is, though. Doctors are coming around very, very slowly.....
