Well, I've had a good colonoscopy and barium xray. Now the dr says he thinks I must have a spastic colon. I'm still taking pentasa and entocort and now he wants me to take librax before every meal.  This isn't helping!! Well am I crazy or do I get to have stomach cramps forever? I'm glad the test came out good of course, but now I feel like more should be done. With the answers Ive gotten lately I feel helpless and confused. I know I am complaining and thanks for listening, but does anyone have any suggestions or do I just need to learn to live with it? As a reminder, I went 25 yrs without surgery, meds and a definite flareup. Now I am hurting after every meal. An I really don't know how to deal. I know I have been very lucky so far and I guess I just don't know what to do or expect.
You all are such a big help and I know you probably know what to do.
Thanks

Hi Perhaps if you tried the librax for awhile it would help and then you might know if it is IBS causing the pain. You sure went a long time without syrgery that is great. Hope you get things going better without the pain. I used to have a lot of trouble with IBS and the pains were so bad I wouldn't go to the hospital for fear of moving my body I used to go to bed and suffer for several hours not a good thing to deal with.lol gail

Has your doctor considered that your stomach pain is coming from Small Bowel Bacteria Buildup? Or maybe, more specifically, HPylori bacteria? I truly believe much of the stomach/upper abdominal pain that I get is due to this.

Just recently, I've been in a terrible flare...since January. Dropped 30 lbs. Stomach/Upper abdominal pains ALL THE TIME. D up to 10 times a day, plus overnight hours. Upper GI w/Small Bowel Follow Thru I had 2 weeks ago came back FINE. They put me on a low taper dose of Prednisone to help with the massive inflammation all over my body that I was having PLUS Flaygl, which helps with bacteria buildup, including HPylori (which I already know is in my bloodstream - once its there, it's ALWAYS there, whether active or not). I have not had much stomach/upper abdominal pain in a week now. Just finished the Flaygl yesterday.

Just a thought!

Thanks for the input. I will mention the hpylori to my doctor. And your right I should give the librax more time. I guess I am being impatient. I get that way when I am really uncomfortable. this morning I feel some better now maybe I can get out of this bad attitude. I love this site and y'all are great. Have a great day everyone.
