Serious Skin Reactions Reported With TNF-alpha Antagonists

Gluten & Sulfite Sensitivity, Many Food/Inhalant/Medication Allergies & Intolerances, Asthma, Gut issues (dysmotility, non-specific inflammation), UCTD (Lupus?), Osteoporosis, Anemia, T- & B-Cell Lymphopenia, malabsorption/malnutrition, Lyme Disease (Igenex Lab IgM WesternBlot positive/CDC negative), etc.
Meds:  Pulmicort, Injectable Vitamin B12, Herbs, Nutritional Supplements, Homeopathy.

Another thing to worry about....
50 y/o F. CD dx'd Aug 05. Initially on Pentasa, then Imuran 125 mg. Started Humira (very reluctantly) on 10/24/07. Ileocolectomy 4/08.

Not so much something to "worry about" but something to be on the lookout for within the first few months of starting one of these meds.

These skin reactions are horrific. I think they are definitely worry worthy.

So, we already knew we are at greater statistical risk for all types of infections. And interestingly enough, I had one little long-standing spot of eczema on my arm that cleared up when I started the biological.

Something to be aware of and watch for, for sure, but probably not a cause for panic and refusing treatment. I guess it depends how sick your IBD is making you.

Moderate to severe left-sided UC (21 cm) diagnosed 2001.
Asacol, Rowasa, Pentasa, Prednisone, Entocort, Azathioprine
Avascular necrosis in both shoulders is my "forever" gift from steroid therapy.
Colazal,  Remicade, Nature's Way Primadophilus Reuteri. In remission since April, 2006.

I'm taking Imodium. I just read that these serious skin reactions have been reported in patients taking Imodium. So you're right Razzle, better not to worry about it, but to be aware of the possibility.
