Okay dudes, I saw my GI yesterday and we've decided to take a nice trip to Flagyl-land once again...14 days, 3 times a day. I can't decide when to start taking it. I am in the middle of my final exams (3 down, 4 to go, all next week) and I can't decide whether it would be better to have several days of headaches, nausea, and a metallic taste in my mouth, or whether I should just keep having my run-of-the-mill watery diarrhea! Oh, the options are simply scintillating!!!

I had watery diarrhea 7 times today, in the midst of my last practical exam of the year. By some miracle I managed to make it through without being a garden hose all over myself OR my patients. And I think I even passed the exam! HA!

My doctor just had me on 5 days of it. The nausea had fully kicked in this morning, ugh, I was so glad to take the last one today. So I feel your pain!

I did several rounds of flagyl and then finally another colonoscopy and it wasn't c-diff, my crohn's had spread and gotton worse. You have alot going on with finals and everything, the flagyl is an evil drug! Yuck! Good luck with your decision and exam. Take Probiotics!!!

Could you take the Flagyl and an anti-naseua med? I didn't have any side effects from Flagyl besides the metallic taste. I covered the pill with a fruit roll up before swallowing it and didn't have to deal with the taste anymore. Do you think that would alter its effectiveness or how it disolves? At that point, I didn't care. I essentially made my own fruity flavored gelcap.

Ooh, I like that idea, Fitz! Maybe I should entitle this thread "Mmm...Fruit Roll-Ups." The most troublesome side effect I've had with the ol' Flag is the awful headache. I have Zofran if I get nauseous, but it makes a little "loopy" (not good when you're being pimped about the hypothalamic release of gonadotropin releasing hormone's effects on the follicle-stimulating hormone's effects on luteinizing hormone in the testes - yeah, don't ask, it messes me up too) and Excredrin makes me have heart palpitations, the darn drug!

I think I might start the dang stuff in one week. That way, hopefully by the time my wedding rolls around the side effects (and the diarrhea!?!?!) will have abated!
