Next Thursday... :)... Glad I'm going to get that taken care of... Would be nice not to have to worry about the ovarian cysts...

Yeah, I'm glad you got that appointment! I've got ovarian cysts too. Like we need more pain in that area huh?

Hi, i deal w/ chronic ovarian cysts (hemmorigaic cysts, not functional cysts). I have had surgery 3x to remove them along w/ 1/4 of ovary when it twisted and lost blood supply from a large cyst.

Hope u can get your figured out...i have not seen your posts before, so i dont' know ur history, however, functional cysts come w/ ur periods and do not usually need treatment (unless bothersome, u can then use birth control, which i think can bother some of u w/ crohns??? i have uc)

The other cysts will usually need surgical intervention. If you have a dermoid cyst, you should be sure that you have a gyn oncologist do your surgery, as some of these can be cancerous, and the contents of the cyst must be emptyed w/ care to not spill to the abdoman.

I assume u have functional cysts...i hope that you are not in to much pain...good luck w/ ur appt, and if u have any ?, i hope i can help. good luck

I don't know what kind of cysts they are... all I know is that I have a bunch of them... and the nurses at the hospital said I should see someone about them...

And I've been having a lot of pain... so... I just want to make sure they're checked out... and if anything needs to be taken care of, it'll be taken care of....

multiple cysts can be a sign of PCOS, but not always. your gyn will be able to tell easily what type of cysts u have when they do a transvaginal ultrasound. with functional cysts that come w/ ur cycle, most will not be removed unless the are around/over the 6cm mark or are causing alot of pain ( which can also be a sign of torsion).

Did u have a check up and that is how u know of the cysts? or have u had them before and are familiar w/ the pain related??? When i get them, i know right away that i have them (sometimes my ob can't believe that i actually know that they are there)lol, but i have been given vicoden for pain most of the time. If you become doubled over in pain along w/ back/leg pain, you can assume that it burst (which in most cases causes no harm or surgical intervention). I recently had a 8cm functional cyst burst causing severe pain which sent me to the ER for pain meds.

anyways, good luck at your appt. i know what a pain these things can be (litterally!) take care!
