Question about Lap Band surgery and Crohn's

Does anyone know or has anyone here had this type of surgery done after being diagnosed with Crohn's? I think I would feel so much better if I couldn't eat as much. I am so addicted to food but after eating I am sick. It's a vicious cycle and it seems like it would be better if your stomach and intestines didn't have to process as much. I could stand to lose quite a bit of weight and I think this would help me. I just didn't know if it was even a possibility with Crohn's.
30 years old~ Diagnosed in 2000 with Crohn's~ Currently taking 3000 mg Pentasa, Prednisone, and Bentyl.

The commercials for the lap band say they are not suitable for people with gastrointestinal problems.

Talk to your gastro doctor. I wouldn't think it would be a good idea, but the professionals would know. I agree it is a vicous cycle. LOL
