HI all
These are the more milder ones the others are really graphic IMHO and didnt want to post them
HAVE no idea what brought them on but I am sure Dad's death, fibro DX and family issues had plenty to do with it all

I am trying to get Cade here but have to wait for a bit longer......

Slept last night in the weirdest position I swear..lol
A pillow with arm on it and above the heart and my one with IV on a smaller on........woke this am to the ones on arms STUCK to the shirt I was wearing
OMG it wasa painful and gross to get it unstuck but I did it
I am taking 120 mgs of morphine and that barely touches it ..........

PG can affect Crohnies and those with UC as well

AM going to rest sis I am just making a few posts and back I go slept almost all day yesterday and then went to bed at 5 up at 4 back alseep till 6 and here I am ......and I am already tired.......LOL

Hi Lyn Hope those clear up soon .Just wandering if sofra tulle is used to cover them with a dressing ? I would think they would drain and stick to stuff without one, really wishing the best for you and hope your dreams are restful. lol gail

HI Gail
When first got these yes I used the sofra tulle..........
NOW I am NOT to put any dressings on them at all

Although I do find taking a 4 x 4 or larger size of gauze and SOAKING it with saline does sure make them feel better for awhile anyways...........
I make all my own saline and it is sure alot less money that way ..lol
Thanks for your post

Lynn, seeing your pictures made me remember the PG I had on my ankles a year ago. I only had them on the ankles..but the swelling of my ankles was twice their normal size and I was unable to walk. I remember that the pain was the worst of anything I dealt with. The only relief was when they finally opened up and about a pint of fluid, blood, etc came out. The stretching and pressure was so painful. Hang in there...my prayers are with you!!!
Diagnosed with Crohns/Colitis in 2004. Currently taking Azulfidine 500 mg/3 x 3 day, Synthroid. Have had joint complications such as pyroderma gangrenosum in ankles as complication of IBD. Started Humira March 2007

Lynn, I had such a hard time dealing with 1 open wound I can't imagine dealing with mulitple areas..A few q's if I could, I am still learning about this and what to expect.  What kind of scares do you get when the areas close? as I am surprised how discolored my leg is from where the open wound was. When you get a new area is it  from a trauma to the area or does it just open with no apparent injury? Alos, once an area closes do you find those are the areas that are more likely to reopen? Thanks for any input you or anyone else has.. Continuing to send warm wishes your way ... Amber

Thank you for sharing those pictures - I'm so sorry you're in such pain. I hope they start to clear soon with the antibiotics, and that you get remicade soon. I'm sure there's a few people out there who've heard of these horrible sores, but were unsure what they look like. By showing them on this site, you've helped a lot of us.

Thanks so much,

Bev

THanks to all
Although the sores are not Bacterial for some reason the IV antibiotics and methotrexate does help them or at least tries to
Basically it is like your blood is BOILING and they will pop out at the "sensitive " areas at the time IMHO and for me at least
They start as lil pustules and grow ......there have been times where I have been able to LITERALLY watch them grow...
I have never had them on trunk of body ........just on legs hands fingers arms and face........
There is BULLOUS Pyoderma and Pyoderma
MY old doc yrs ago had me on IV Vancomycin for months at a time and I have lost my hearing in one ear losing it in other......
The Ear ( Hearing specialist and doc ) have both agreed and written depositions as per the effect it could have had used that long
Vancomycin is a great Antibiotic but def not for long term IV use........
I am in a lawsuit with this as I type and have beeen for a couple of yrs now

Amber
I have scars that are unbelievable and they are there for life
Nothing will take them away and believe me I tried everything
I get more sores when I have a few or start with one from stress .....anxiety or a CD flare and I also believe envioronment plays a big part in my outbreaks.this was the first Christmas in 14 yrs I had not had an outbreak ..we moved from Bothwell ( oil town) to Strathroy Ontario and I ahve done so well here .......

I have even got an outbreak and a really bad one after a colonscopy and endoscopy..doc said it was trauma to the body..makes sense
I am Native Canadian and I am dark of course but the scars are lighter (and have some almost purple) than my normal skin color after they are healed for a long time
Yes for me I have found that the sores will re open at the same site in some outbreaks.........not all
Sometimes I believe it is from Trauma and other times I think it is where my skin is more vulnerable at the time

I am so sorry you have to deal with this too
That makes about 6 now here that I know of ..........
Email if you want to ......
I have done so much research as has my family doc on this .....be glad to share
It took 9 yrs for me to be DX ..........I was only with new doc for a month and had DX

I do hope that this will help someone I really do ........
That is what this site is all about right......sharing ,caring and support.........
Take care Amber
Thoughts and prayers are with you ...

LYN
