Hi Gail, have you ever had the rotator cuff in that shoulder looked at. This can be a common but very painfull
problem. I'm thinking of you...

I know what you mean, seems like we always wake up with somethng going on new! Every day I get up and check to see that nothing is swollen these days! LOL

Your shoulder could be a joint related issue with Crohn's. Nothing surprises me now days as to how it can effect us. Maybe you slept on it funny? I know I'm known to hurt myself just by sleeping. LOL

Hope you feel better today.

Hi Gail- Sorry you had such a rough night.  Strange that your past shoulder adhesion and current pain is in the same shoulder as mine.  You say it feels like a different pain?  I have recently picked up a book entitled "Yoga for Arthritis".  My youngest son graduated college with a degree in physical therapy.  This book has alot of the stretches in it that they perform in PT.  Most importantly though, it also fully describes the anatomy & function of the joints most affected by arthritis.  It has given me a better understanding of exactly where my pain is occurring and why as well as the direct results of which muscles, tendons & ligaments control what.  I'm not jumping on the Yoga wagon until my Rheumy visit and my son will be home for a week in July to help me do the stretches correctly.  Meanwhile, I'm being a percocet junkie.  I believe I have some connective tissue issues going on as well.  I'll let you know how things turn out and would recommend you at least go to the bookstore and look at this book if you don't purchase it.  Keep that joint moving as much as possible as long as you don't hear a grinding noise and ice pack/heat rotation for about 10-20 minutes would probably help as well.  Popping noises are okay because that is the body's way of regulating the pressure within the joint.
