hello all,
I saw a very stressful situation yesterday morning.I cannot get the image out of my mind. Everytime I think about it, which is very often, I get a wave of burning in my chest.I have some minor stomach pain, that I didnt have,. So I dont know if I should go to er because of the burning in my chest. It is not like heartburn or anything of that sort. or should I wait to go to the doctor this week.Yesterday was spent crying off and on all day. Today is the same. I have had a silent heart attck in the past. I also posted this on the Heart forum, but I am more familiar with this forum, which is why I am posting here also.

You know I think that sometimes anxiety can cause things like that. If you had a traumatic event happen, stress could very well set off an ugly chain of events. I take Xanax for those times and it really quiets those stressful times down and helps also with the side effects the stress cause. Good luck and I hope you getting feeling better soon.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 32 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec 60 mg, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and doing tests to see if I have Inflammatory Arthritis or AS.

I, too, believe this is anxiety...a panic attack of sorts. Stress/Anxiety causes all SORTS of physical ailments, including stomach and chest pain. I'd wait and talk to your doctor about it this week and bypass the expense of the ER.
Diagnosed in October, 2004 at age 33.

Anxiety and Stress I am sure! But like me I have such bad luck that I would worry. BUT in the end I really try not too. What I would do is go to your Doctor ASAP and not the ER unless of course things get worse! I think the main reason for you to go ASAP would be to make you feel better and more confident as we all now worrying can make things worse!
Good luck to you and please keep us all posted!

DON'T WAIT . . . .

Seek medical help if you are having chest pain/discomfort. Especially because you've already suffered one heart attack. Go now don't wait. Better to be safe than sorry.

I'm SO sorry you had such an awful experience.

Post and let us know how you are doing after you get checked out.

Blessings!

Update,, I did see the family doctor today. He said it was anxiety. Gave me a script for Ativan. and go back to see him in a month. I have lost 7 pounds since last Thurs. I am an overweight Crohnie. So I do want to lose, but that seems a bit much in a short period of time. Thank you for being concerned. I appreciate it very much.
