Well all that itching on the left of my fissure is yet another fissure. The area is still itchy moreso when I wipe than at other times. This 1 appeared while using the diltiazem 2% that the colorectal surgeon scripted for my 1st fissure. The 1st one is stillswollen around it and is the skin from the anus to my vaginal area. The new 1 does not have swelling around it and i clean it well. I am so frustrated

I'm so sorry to hear you're having such difficulties - one fissure is bad enough - but two. Ouch!!!

Hope things improve soon,

Bev

well this diltiazem can take UP to 3 weeks to begin working....its been8 and I am sure the new area had gotten the meds on it when I apply it on the origional....it is vasaline bsed but sometimes I use them meds then not too long later I have a BM and wonder with my wiping and flushable wipes if I should reapply the ointment. I am still having loose stools post op...things are sinking.in the toilet now at least most of the time. I dont see my colorectal MD til july 30....my GI Oct 14..

Sounds miserable... :(
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

I don't know how deep your fisure(s) are but I've had success with using extra virgine olive oil on my anus...it's also soothing and it heals, but mine were never super deep either so that can also factor in to a lengthy healing time.

:)
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it!  LOL  :)
