So I went to my GI appt at 3 for the GI that did my colonscopy when I was hospitalized earlier in May. He is soooo great! He went over my 3 yr total history and has a plan of action and I really feel like he is going to get me into remission once and for all.
I am now going on Humira and being pulled off Remicade since I am not responding. And if I do not respond to Humira he is operating to remove the bad part of the small intestine (the end part) and resect I guess. But I think that i iwll have some luck with Humira. Ive been put on and taken off Remicade 3 times now so that may have caused the lack of response. He also said I will not be steroid dependent forever!!! THANK U JESUS! He will get me off pred. He did say to stop smoking asap and stop taking ibprofen/advil for my joint pain.
Gave me zofran to replace my pherengan AND ultram for the pain with my knee and abdominal area.
I really really really am so happy. He said my smallbowel fllwthru wasnt pretty but he will help me get better! no matter what it takes! Thats so much more reassuring than hearing " you must not be fllwing your medicine regimen or hearing WE will never operate unless you obstruct"
Im just soooo relieved to finally have a GI that listened and cared! He even wrote out his plan of action for me, gave me a copy, and invited me to a conference he is hosting on Crohns 2 weeks from now.
I hope if any of you don't like your GI...don't give up, there are docs out there that are amazing! THX for letting me share !
Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength
