I think... maybe an hour or two... I've been lying in bed. I can't remember if I've been awake or if I woke up... but I'm in a lot of pain right now. My back and my hips and my knees have been hurting so badly... For some odd reason, my right hip and right knee are hurting the most. Now that my tummy is hurting, too, I've taken a pain pill... I can only hope it helps with everything because this hurts really bad... :S... Is there any way I can stop this from happening? There has to be a way to minimize the side effects of my medicine or something.

I dont really have a great answer but is it possible that you did fall off to sleep on the one side that hurts the most and have been laying on it during this time......causing the position you may have fallen off in to be the problem??
Like when you lay with hand under neck how it may go numb kinda thing..........

Maybe a hot water bottle or a towel wetted down and put in microwave to get heated would help for a bit

I am just trying to give you some ideas........

Hoping the pian med kicks in for you and let you doze off to sleep

That's possible... I don't think I change positions much when I sleep...

I'm going to try to go back to bed... (Not that I'll get much sleep anyway... have to wake up at 7:00... and its 5:38...)... I hope I'm feeling better at 7:00... :(

Celey I am not on Pred, but I find that even I seem to sleep on the same side all the time. Many times I wake up in so much pain and with numb hands. Well I wake up every morning in some kind of pain. That's the main reason I take pain meds at least twice a day. I couldn't function in other way. Sure hope your Pred time is coming closer to an end and you get feeling better.

Have you finished this semester of school yet? Hopefully you will have the summer to re-coop. (((BIG HUGS)))

I'm taking a summer class now...

But I have a question... The pain has not let up... It hurts so much. What should I do? I don't want to go to the emergency room, but I don't know what to do... *I called the doctor's office... hoping for a call back soon...*

Is your pain the joint pain or tummy pain? The best type of doctor to see for the joint pain is a Rheumatologist. But I would try to get in to see your GI or PCP if your pain is not being controlled. No one should have to suffer with uncontrollable pain. ((GENTLE HUGS))

Also if you haven't heard from your doctor within a few hours, keep calling until you get some help.

Well... I ended up going to the emergency room because of the hip pain and knee pain... (I was having trouble walking on my right leg because it hurt too much)... They admitted me for the night and did some tests...

Apparently, I have a kidney infection (probably explains the cloudy urine I've been having lately)... But they don't keep people for an extended time because of that unless they're throwing up a lot...

I had an MRI done... but I don't know what the results of that are yet. The radiologist hadn't looked at 'em before I was discharged. A hospital doctor had taken a look at it, though, and told me that there isn't anything severe going on. It does look like there's some spacing in the vertebrate and a bulging disc...

I'll have to follow up with my primary care doctor...

I'm glad you went to the hospital, Celey. If nothing else, it can set your mind at rest that there's nothing severe wrong.

When do you get to see your primary doctor?

Yes... I am glad for that. I just hope there's something I can do to prevent from having that pain again... //@.@\\'...

I have to make an appointment. I'm going to call him Monday. (I have an appointment with my GI doctor Monday. Hope everything goes well with that... Have another question to ask him...)

Actually, maybe you guys could help me out with that, too... For the past few days, I've been having... err...

Constipated diarrhea... //@.@\\'... *Seriously... I have trouble going and it's still as painful as ever, but when I finally do manage to get something to come out, it comes out as sludge... or liquid...* I don't know what to do... //@.@\\'... Do I need more fiber? Less fiber? More water?

This is just a guess, Celey, but it could mean that the impaction (the dry, hard stuff) has passed. After the impaction comes runny stuff.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, but I'm a d Crohnie rather than a c one so don't have much knowledge in this area. I hope one of the c experts will be along soon to give you some more experienced advice.

Hmm... Could this mean I'm on my way to normalcy, perhaps? *I've still been having lots of tummy pain... but if I could start having normal, pain-free bathroom experiences, maybe my tummy pain will start letting up, too* :D... *It'd be nice if things just calmed down by themselves... then I wouldn't have to get on any stronger medicine... and I could start tapering the prednisone... and hopefully, still be fine...*

I hope you're on your way to normalcy, Celey.

Perhaps it would be best to keep taking one day at a time, though, rather than to start looking too far ahead.

Yeah... That probably is the best thing to do. I have a tendency to look too far ahead at things... Sometimes, it's good in a way (nice to daydream about the far-off future where I'm out of college and leading a successful, well-adjusted life)... but it can be bad to think ahead, too...
Every once in a while, I think about August. I believe that's when I'll have to reapply for my insurance... might end up being a hassle...
Shouldn't worry about that right now, though, because it's still a way aways, and there isn't anything I can do right now...
Guess I just can't help myself, sometimes.
