i have no idea if it is from medication or what. but every month about 3 days before i m due to get my period i get this intense redness, itching, burning down their like i have a yeast infection or like taking sandpaper and wiping after peeing just hurts.  I told my gyne dr about this and she did tests and stuff and nothing.  There is no discharge or anything just that feeling of want to itch and stuff and then it just goes aways during my period.  It last for 3 days before period and 3 days into period and then just goes away. Does this happen to anyone else? It is so werid but it happens just about every month to me.  I know when im getting my period because that happens and i have no idea why?   Is it a hormone thing? My periods come just about every 28 days and last for about 7-9 days.

Hi Trsora,

I wonder if it has anything to do with Sjogren's?? Do you have sjogren's, dry mouth or dry eyes??? It can also cause vaginal issues. Just a thought.

Hormones do affect those with Lupus . . . and we (lupans) also have mini-flares with/just before our periods. Lupus is also autoimmune . . . so there really could be a hormonal connection.

Blessings!

I don't get the itching every month nor does it last as long as yours but I do get it some months for a day before and one or two days of then it goes away. There is never anything clinical going on-I think it must be hormonal changes.

Yes, I get it too, usually a few days before. I find if you start to swell it can start itching. I also get mucus discharge after my period anally and then the pain starts. All my obstructions have always been on my days. I am hoping that menopause may start. I know be careful what I wish for! I have noticed some months it doesnt happen because I am on Humira. Recently just noticed I have been using Charmin TP, makes me itch and burn. Gotta switch that fast. Use Zinc cream it really helps, I use it all the time and prevents the burning and protects for the next urination or wipe. Good luck.
