We just got home yesterday afternoon. I did great! While it wasn't fun having the prednisone make me hungry for everything in sight, and I now have the puffy face, it did make it to where I could eat and enjoy myself. I did have two episodes of D during the week, but that probably had more to do with WHAT I ate. LOL I haven't done that many sit down nice meals on a vacation in probably a decade (normally I want to do take out and eat it in our hotel room, where I feel "safer" if I get sick). That was really the best I've felt with Crohn's in 10 years. Amazing.

But back to reality! LOL I went down to 25 mg of pred this morning (from 30 mg), now I get to deal with the few days of feeling like crap from coming down. But I need to get off this stuff. Going to call my family doc tomorrow and see about getting in to see him. Hopefully he can help me with a good tapering schedule for the rest of the way, and about getting a new better GI doc.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone! :)

Jen77 so happy you had such a great time on your vacation. This past February my husband & I went to Guadalajara, Mexico to see his oldest sister. I was so anxious and had so much anxiety about the what if's before the trip I had to go to the my family doc and get some Xanax to help, which it did.

I laugh at myself now, because I had the most amazing trip and will be going back later this year. Funny thing is, is when I think of the upcoming trip I get a little anxious again, but know that I will have a good time again. But I also know that I always have that Xanax to help me overcome my fears.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 32 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec 60 mg, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and doing tests to see if I have Inflammatory Arthritis or AS.

:)... That's great, Jen! I hope things continue to go well...

Sorry about the poofy face, though... Try to think of it this way. It adds to your cuteness! :D... Because poofy cheeks can be cute... You know... Like... chipmunk cheeks. :)
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

LOL Celey, I'm trying to think of them as cute, some days it goes over better then others. LOL :)

Nanners, I can sure understand what you mean about the anxiety before a trip. I was worried for months about how I was going to handle it. Especially with flaring up a month before it. Xanax would have probably helped me too with that! Really is a good idea!
