New symptom.  I had a resection almost 2 years ago.  Had the last half of my colon removed starting with the sigmoid.  The last 4-5 days it has been really painful to have a bm.  It is almost like my rectum is spassing for about 20 minutes afterwards.  The only time it doesn't hurt is when it is butt pee.  Even when it is just mushy it hurts.

I have been running really low grade fevers for several months, but I have been feeling wonderful.  I do have IBS also so I don't worry too much about "d" but a normal or mushy stool brings me to tears.

Has anyone else had this symptom?  I do have a call into the drs but they are really bad about calling back quickly.

kinda TMI but have you looked down there? like to make sure you dont have any hemmies or thrombosed ones? That incomplete evacution feeling is a common feeling for me, but Im thinking that the pain symptom tells a different story, one that is not good--

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength

Diagnosed with severe Crohn's colitis in May 2005--spread to ileum and small intestine as of April 2008. Have taken Imuran, Remicade, TPN, Colozal, Entocort, Flagyl, PamineForte, Cipro, Dicyclomine, Prednisone, Asacol, Prevacid, and the list goes on. Currently on Remicade every 8wks, 40mg Pred, Pentasa.

Yes, I have and it isn't from hemmies (although it can feel the same and it's possible you have internal hemmies which could cause the "preasure" feeling) but if no hemmies then it's from inflammation of the rectom (proctitis) in which case you'll need rectal meds which will reach the area quickly and therefore the meds will work quicker.

You may have to get checked to see if you're dealing with hemmies, proctitis or even both.

Thanks for replying.  I'm going in tomorrow to have an abdominal x-ray to see if I'm impacted.

Thanks, I will. I really hope it's nothing bad, but I'm afraid that it might be adhesions or a stricture at the place of my resection causing me to be backed-up. I just realized that the past few days the only passing through is pure butt pee. I don't know if that is just a coincidence. My stools seem to alternate between reg, to mush, to butt pee, sometimes all in the same day.

UPDATE: Doc didn't see anything on my x-ray but after I explained to him directly my symptoms and not his nurse/medical assistant, he seemed to be more concerned. He will be gone all week next week so he is putting me on some hemmoroidal medication in case it's internal hemmies. He also wants me to do a stool sample (fun).

I have had similar feelings of pressure in my rectum, which I put down to my fistulas but I had a CT scan this week that showed that I have a very narrow and inflamed rectum. Good luck!
Crohn's Disease diagnosed 2003
Complex anal fistula since 2002
Resection 2004
Current meds: Azathioprine 150mg
Citalopram 40mg (depression)
