Good news... My kidney infection has cleared up. And I've been prescribed something to help me get to sleep... And I'm going to see a counselor tomorrow... maybe... if I can get a ride.

But... well... The doctor was busy today (I was waiting for two hours), so the nurse practioner saw me instead. I asked about getting an MRI done on my hips... because of being on prednisone for a long time... and wanting to make sure... and the fact that I've been having pain...

She told me to talk to them about it at the next appointment... And she seemed to kind of brush it all off as minor aches and pains from not getting enough sleep... *I must have said at least several times that I've been having hip pain for longer than a few months... And it's only just recently that I've been having trouble going to sleep... and part of the reason why (a big part probably) is because the pain is bothersome enough to keep me up at night... //>.<\\'...*

Tomorrow, I think I will start looking for a rheumatologist... I'm really getting tired of dealing with this achiness... :(...
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Good Luck Celey....there is nothing worse than feeling like you are not being taken seriously. ...or given the time of day. After all ...you are paying these people , they are supposed to be working for you. I think looking for a Rheumy is a good idea. Having hip pain for this long is not normal and DAH!!!! no wonder you're not sleeping if you are having pain at night. I can totally relate. !
Hope you have some luck finding a good rheumy and that you are able to get a good night's sleep very, very soon. ( they use sleep deprivation as torture in some countries)It's no laughing matter not being able to sleep....it affects every part of your health, and quality of life.
keeping you in my prayers.

Thanks, Marie...

How are you doing by the way? I hope you're doing better than you were earlier...

Sorry you are not sleeping well! My gi prescribed me 2 oxycodone at bedtime for my abdominal and joint pain a week ago and I am finally able to sleep. Maybe they could look at giving you some pain medicine, I know the joint pain can be very debilitating. I hope you feel better, Just remember to be assertive with your doctors and get what you need.

I just saw my Rheumy yesterday and I asked her about getting a MRI of my hips, but she said not now. It is pretty frustrating. She wants to talk to my GI about me using maybe Enbrel or Humira. He would prefer that I not use the stronger meds in case my guts need them later. But I think I may at least try the Enbrel to see if it helps the pain. Celey stay firm with your docs. Tell them that you still have bad pain and your on Pred. Usually Pred helps the joint pain. And keep pushing for the Rheumy referral. Good luck!

There's still a good chance all this joint pain could be the prednisone's fault in the first place (I mean, as a non-serious side effect). Would be nice if after I'm done tapering and I'm off it completely, I won't have to worry about joint pain, anymore...

But this is pretty ridiculous. I'm tired of putting up with it... Tired of not sleeping... Tired of not feeling like going to work (I like working actually and making money) or to the library (I love to read) and even to class (I want to do well)... Tired of getting tired and sore doing my laundry... or taking a shower... or doing the dishes. And tired of just being sick and tired...

I'm too young to feel like this... and like Marie said, it's not normal. And I'd like to get it checked out in-depth just to make sure nothing serious is wrong...

Or if it is some kind of arthritis, to get treated for it so that I could get some relief. *Got my prescription filled... I'll get to try the sleeping medicine tonight. I hope it helps, I'm so tired. I need sleep.*
