I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and on remicade. I know it's a hard decision to take such a strong med while pregnant, but for me there were no other options. I had "stomach"/abdominal pain for years and it was always misdiagnosed as "female" problems. When I got pregnant with my daughter in 05, I had serious pain at 11 weeks and it never got better while I was pregnant. Because I was pregnant they were limited on the testing they could do to find out what was wrong so I spent almost 30 days total (6 visits) in the hospital and was EXTREMELY sick. I lost 27lbs and everyone was worried about whether or not my daughter was going to be ok when she was born. Several months after she was born I was finally dx'd with crohn's and started a treatment plan. I already had a pretty serious stricture from scar tissue build up that couldn't be reversed. The remicade stopped any further disease, but I did have a resection surgery in July 07. Even at that point I thought I would never be able to have more kids. After about 6 months of "normal" living I decided to talk to my docs about having another baby, but I knew that remicade was the only way I could do it. I did lots of reading and talking to people, but ultimately the decision is yours and your significant others. I would never have taken the risk of a flare during pregnancy so if it wasn't for remicade I wouldn't be having another baby girl in Sept.
Think it through, talk to your doctors and your significant other and go with your heart. GOODLUCK!!!
