Hi Everyone, Please let me know what you think of my symptoms.
It started out as bloating a couple months ago. Then I got diarrhea off and on. For the past 3 weeks or so, I have been weak and fatigued off and on, low grade fever, somewhat constipated, more loose bowel movements, dull rectal pain, shooting rectal pain, abdominal pain(lower and seems to move around), loss of appetite, stool changes in consistency often. Up to 10 bowel movements each day.
I should also mention that I was almost certain I have candida albicans, an abnormal amount in my digestive tract, so I went on the anti candida diet. This decreased bloating a few days but, these symptoms lead me to believe it is just my body's detox reaction. I ended up in the ER two days ago, and I told them Everything, and they did some bloodwork and an x ray, found nothing. I have an appointment with a gi doc coming up.
I am confused and scared about my symptoms. Please give me some feedback!!!
Thanks for reading.

Hi Welcome to Healing Well and there is lots of support here and caring people. As for your symnptoms sounds like you should get checked by a GI so glad you have a appointment. We all were probably scared at one time before DX and some afterwards. There are more meds , now to help people and some of us do low residue diet. Please let us know how you make out with your GI and try not to worry to much till you find out what is going on. Ask any questions you want and someone will try to help if they can. lol gail

Hi woodlandsprite, you sound like the classic symptoms of crohns. Even scopes dont tell all and depending on where it is, it is hard to diagnose. If you have symptoms continuing dont give up and let the doctors say there is nothing wrong with you. Took me 8 months, of test, scopes, Ct scans, blood work, and Hallujah, they finally found it. Gachrons is right, there is so much more they can do to help you. Try NOT to worry, that makes your symptoms worse. Everything will be just fine, let us know what the GI says, and Welcome, we are here to help, when ever any of us can!

It sounds like one of the first things you need to do is have tests for intestinal bacteria-some sort of infection could be causing this and should be ruled out first. When all those tests don't show anything then you need to think about IBS/IBD kinds of things. Right now I would concentrate on ruling out acute causes.

Thank you all for your responses. I appreciate and it helps put my mind at ease a bit. I just read the paper that has to go to the lab with my stool sample and it has salmonella and other illnesses listed to test for, so once that is ruled out....
I am still nervous to have a colonoscopy or any other test that involves going up my _______. hehe
Anyways, thanks again and I will probably be back tomorrow or Tuesday for an update.

woodlandsprite -

Don't worry about a colonoscopy - you will be asleep. :) Take it easy on what you eat until the pain subsides. Hang in there. You are not alone.

Thanks for all of your replies.
Today I dropped off the stool sample at the lab.
Thursday I have the appointment with the gi doc's physician's assistant.
I had the diarrhea today, 4 times, then major fatigue and weakness set in with some nausea. Yucky.

Oh, I forgot to ask, has anyone here had that rectal pain? Either dull or shooting? Did any abdominal pain you've had change often, like, one hour it felt achy, the next hour it felt crampy and shift from left to right in the lower abdomen?

Does anyone have trapped gas? Or gas that is hard to pass and relieve yourself of? Thanks again.

Now this I have had,,, countless times, and trapped many times til I had to take painkillers to take away the pain.  When I flare it gets bad, since I am on Humira, I get pain on and off but no gas.  Sometimes it is a combination of foods, flaring and narrowing of the intestines.  Sometimes laying on your right side helps.  Stay away from gaseous veggies, and raw for a bit.  I am sorry I am not much help.  Hope you find you way to relieve it.

yes, your reply does help. Knowing I am not alone with certain symptoms helps a great deal. I found a few positions that help. I have heard that lying down and bending your legs and holding your thighs to your chest and rocking can help. Doing it off and on.
WHen the knees or thighs are above or at chest level, it can help move things out.
