so today I came into work with intense pain in my stomach and joints feeling really crappy but putting on a happy face. I actually even left early today because of the pain, anywho I open my email and find out 2 of my co workers nominated me for an all expense paid trip to Hawaii. I work really hard at my jobs and perform really well but this award is based off more than performance it is recognition from your peers. I was so touched one of them said in her nomination that despite my medical issues I always make it a positive better environment to work in. I was so touched that they thought I deserved this. My disease has really been getting me down and they have no idea what it means to me that they even nominated me. I don't even care if I win I am just touched someone thinks I am deserving.

:)... It always does the heart good... knowing there are some people out there that are seeing what you're doing... trying to help you accomplish your goals... or just let you know how much they appreciate you. I know what that's like...

Grateful to everyone that helps me out... (And a lot of people have...a lot of people have thought that I'm worth it)...

It's been really hard lately... to just keep going... but... I'd cite that as one of the major reasons I still keep going...
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

By the way, Shellz... I've decided to show my email address. *I have a tendency to get a lot of junk e-mail, anyway* So... Email me anytime you like. :)

Hey Celey - no worries, only members can see it.

Shellz - that is so great. I also think it helps others on here when those of us with positive work environments share.

It is a great honor to be nominated by your coworkers and like Celey said, heartwarming. Sally Fields, when she accepted the academy award for her performance in Norma Rae, gushed "You like me, you really like me" or something like that. That's how I felt when I was awarded something by my coworkers earlier this year. I hope you actually win the trip.
50 y/o F. CD dx'd Aug 05. Initially on Pentasa, then Imuran 125 mg. Started Humira (very reluctantly) on 10/24/07. Ileocolectomy 4/08.

If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.

Congrats! Praying that you win....but I think its probably in the "grass skirt"(bag).... Keep smiling girl....shows people that you can still be positive and make your environment a better place despite what problems you may have, physical or otherwise.... my mom always said life is 10%circumstance, and 90%attitude....not an easy thing to keep up sometimes , but some people like yourself just seem to get it!
Proud of you!
