My mother is in flareup now. Is there anything she should not be eating?

Hello Charles . . . Welcome to the forum!!

It will be pretty much up to her. She will eventually figure out what she can tolerate while flaring and what she can tolerate day to day. Some here actually go to a liquid diet (Ensure or Instant Breakfast type drinks) while they are having a hard time. But make sure it is her choice. There is a recent topic here about how offensive it is when a Chron's patient is flaring and then family members ask "What did you eat to trigger this?" Because it isn't necessarily a food.

Here is a link to a recent topic titled: Do you all know what trigers your CD flares??

It's not quite the question you are asking . . . but within that topic different members do answer a couple different questions.

I hope your Mom is feeling better soon.

I totally agree with AlwaysRosie, in that each case of crohn's is very different. The best thing you can do for Mom, is just be supportive. Like in the other thread, I agree that people become obsessed with what you eat and have too many opinions and when all is said and done, diet is NOT what causes crohn's.
