I have been taking Remicade, about six infustions so far, but haven't noticed big improvements.  I had an appendix burst a month ago which sent the Crohn's into overdrive.  My Primary gave me Prednisone for the first time, 2 20mg tabs daily, which gave me immediate relief.  I only took it for 5 days but was astonished at the results.
My GI followed up by putting me on Entocort, 3 3mg tabs every morning, which has kept up the wonderful results.  I still have loose BMs, but only once or twice a day, (a great improvement), but I was wondering if this was the normal dosage or would 4 tabs daily or if there was a stronger dosage that might mimick the prednisone.
  Any input would be appreciated.
  Thank you!

I'm not sure about stronger dosage, but when I tried to take it a month ago my GI only had me taking 3 tabs a day too. I only made it to 2 though and started having horrible side effects so I had to stop taking it right away. Hopefully someone here can help you. If you can make it through the weekend maybe call your GI's office on Monday and ask too.

I have been on Entocort, but it was working for a few years and then I had a massive bowel obstruction and emergency surgery.  I am pretty sure 3 pills a day was the max.  I didnt find any side effects, at all, not like Prednisone, which I am on now along with Humira in my 3rd month.  Tapering down to 30 mg tomorrow, if it doesn't keep the flare down, then by 4th month I will have to stop Humira.

3 pills is the maximum that they put you on.  Some have gotten headaches at 3 pills (9 mg) and are successfully able to use just 2 a day.  I have used Entocort and the past and started at 3 pills/day and slowly weaned down to 2 then 1.  It takes a little longer to work than Pred, but has less systemic side effects.

I re-started taking entocort about a week ago. The max is 9mg (3 pills) a day. So far, so good. Had 3 good days in a row, my first since sugery in April. Also, tomorrow I'm getting my second remicade infusion since my surgery. Keeping my fingers crossed!
