I searched and did not find the answer to this, sorry.

I am wondering if anyone stopped cold turkey or had a taper plan? I have been on three pills everyday  for about  a year so I tapered to 2 pills a little over a week ago. I swear I am moody and the Taper might be to blame.

Anyone stop cold turkey or do you taper the entocort? I was planning every 1-2 weeks reducing the dose by 1 pill then take one pill every other day for a few days at the end.

I know this drug is not supposed to have as many steroid side effects but I think it does have some.
thanks,
Karen

thanks Kasper87! Then I should be ok with my taper plan though. I just hate to refill the entocort again since I am on Humira now and should not need it soon.

I hope the Cimzia works for you. I am glad to know there are more options out there.

Before my last resection I was on Entocort 3 pills per day. My surgeon never gave it to me after surgery, so I guess I cold turkeyed off it too. I don't remember having any withdrawal type symptoms, but I do know it took a little longer to heal from the surgery. I would just continue on the schedule you are on, I think you would be okay. I just started Entocort, and the doc told me to taper. Specifically he told me to take the full dose till I feel better and then go to 2 pills/day for a few weeks, then one pill a day for a few weeks. So I think your plan should be OK.
