No Inflammation in blood test .

Hi Everyone,
My husband GI doc did some blood test for his current pain (after 1.5 yrsof remicade) and report is normal.
Is this happen to anyone else also?

Yes, I've often had normal blood work w/active disease symptoms.
Some people are like Slinkies... Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

C2 is right, that is a very common occurence. I was flaring recently and my blood work came back fine, only showed that I was anemic, which I already knew.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 32 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec 60 mg, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and doing tests to see if I have Inflammatory Arthritis or AS.

My blood work always comes back normal but we know I'm dealing with a flare. Its so strange but just go with the flow.
Living with Crohn's Disease since Jan./2000 but had a few years prior
I'm a true Crohnie with IBS too
 
Meds I have tried:  Too many to list- LOL
Meds currently on:  Prednisone 20mg tapering  Back up to 30mg  :-(
                           Methotrexate injections once a week 25mg
                           Folic Acid 5mg once a week
                           Wellbutrin
No Surgeries

When I flare my blood work tends to get really wacky-my rhuemy told me my CRP was the highest she had ever seen.
Having said that I think I am almost the exception-lots of people have flares with normal blood work or nutty blood work while they feel really good.

I have also had normal blood work while flaring. This happened to me during the last really bad flare I had.

same with me, had major flares with no signs in my blood or urine of inflammation yet it was there...
27 year old, married. Diagnosed with Crohns at 17, suspected of having for at least a year or so before that.  Alot of Crohns in my family history.  No surgeries yet. Taking Imuran.
