Strep throat has been around my workplace, and I am currently on Prednisone and MTX.  Anyhow, since these two drugs lower your immune system, if I did get strep, would I get sicker with it than I have in the past or not as sick, since my immune system is lowered?

Thanks for your replies!

I have read that mtx can mask symptoms of infection so you might not feel as sick. However, the germs are multiplying faster and not dying off so they may migrate. If you even think you are getting a sore throat, a fever etc you need to get it checked out even if you don't feel all that sick.
I hope this passes you by.

Im on both those meds and find when I do get the nasty 'bugs' it takes longer to shake them off, I dont think I get it any worse than anyone else though. Hope this passes you by. Joanne
