Despite taking the meds that my doctor gave me for my nausea, it came back last night full force.
I have to say with being on steroids, I don't mind the appetite loss but the nauseated feeling of it all is terrible for me.

We did labs last week and my blood tests came back in the normal range, it's not a flare according to that but I'm certainly feeling that I'm in the beginning stages of one. Other things that I have noticed that have been bothering me is joint pain. I got up from my desk at work yesterday to go to the bathroom and it was difficult to get my ankles and knees to cooperate, they were very stiff and a little painful. I also have what I suspect is tendon pain (it hasn't been diagnosed) which is constant.. I've addressed this 'tendon' pain with my primary care physician and my gastro doctor and every time I say something, it's ignored.
I was given Celebrex by my PCP but I can't take it, I called my gastro to make sure and I was advised to not take it since it may cause some issues. Fine.. whatever.. just give me something thats going to help this once healthy and relatively active 26 year old not feel like an arthritic 70 year old.
Am I crazy to think that I may not be getting the car that I need?

Diagnosed 9/06 with Pancolitis. The diagnosis was changed 9/20/07 to Crohn's disease.
I've had flares in my mouth, stomach, large intestine, and the duodenum.

I currently take Humira 40mg bi-weekly, prdnisone 8mg (oh so close!!), methotrexate as a weekly shot, prevacid, celebrex, foilica acid, and.. I think that's it.

So sorry, I have had really bad bouts of nausea also. I also learned that some foods that caused acid reflux for me one day seemed to cause nausea sometimes too... I also have taken zofran for nausea and it worked well but some days it did almost nothing. I wonder if your Doc can give you something else?

good luck!

I've been having some nausea the last few weeks, but I'm thinking it's from the tapering of the steriods. I was at 2.5 mg, but started feeling it really around 10 mg. Also been having bad headaches, and feeling weak and tired since I went down to around 5 mg. So I boosted it back up to 10 mg today, gonna see my doc on Monday about a slower taper. Can't stand feeling sick. Sure don't need added problems you know! Hope you feel better!

Thanks for the advice/suggestions.
There hasn't been a change in the medications that I take. I've been at 8mg of prednisone for what feels like for ever now and I'm not taking anything new other than the meds to help get rid of the nausea.
I guess with time it might work it's self out or I'll just end up flaring again..

I have had two resections and because of these I have frequent nausea. Things don't move thru me the same anymore. I take 8 mg Zofran every morning and 25 mg of Phergan every night. Lately the nausea has been more frequent and I don't know if something is cooking or if the Zofran in the morning is no longer doing the trick. I have started taking 1/2 Phenergan during the day. Luckily it no longer makes me super drowsy anymore. I plan on asking my doc for a different nausea med to take as the Zofran is no longer helping.

Just one thought, maybe you have some narrowing going on somewhere and that is causing the increase in nausea. I would request a Small Bowel Follow Thru or a Cat scan to see if you have a stricture. Good luck and keep us posted.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 32 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec 60 mg, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and doing tests to see if I have Inflammatory Arthritis or AS.

My daughter suffers from nausea very often. The doctor said she had a chronic gastritis ...but her on ranitidine only... zofran for emergencies... But she has noticed that if she has coffee, she will sure as shootin be nauseous in the afternoon.... she has to be very careful what she eats... personally I think she may have CD because she runs to the bathroom an awful lot too...but hasn't been tested for that yet.

I get nausea an awful lot also... I have very serious Gerd, which has led to severe esophagitis and esophageal ulcers over the years. I take Pantoloc 4omgs hs...but still wake up nauseous and shaky everyday.
I can't offer any advice exept to say ...hang in there! unfortunately dr.s are often over booked and seem to just rush us along, don't seem to be really listening. Put your foot down. Tell them you are fed up!
Praying for you sweetie....
Let us know how you are doing.
