A few days ago, I was really nauseous all day, and later vomited. This has happened to me before, but only once or twice, then everything goes back to normal. Well, this time it hasn't. I haven't been able to eat anything more than a few bites a day without being nauseous the rest of the day. It's much worse at night as well. I did go to the ER on Saturday, but they found nothing wrong and said it was probably just a bug. Now, I would be willing to believe that, but I'm not feeling ill otherwise, no aches and pains, fatigue, etc. that would accompany a stomach flu or virus.

And, I've been going to the bathroom much more frequently. It feels like I'm never completely done, most definitely an annoying and uncomfortable feeling. Though I go several times a day, most of those BMs are mainly mucus.

The only medication change I've had is bumping Humira from every other week to every week about a month ago because I started having flaring symptoms again. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

Any ideas?

You don't mention any pain, so I am tending to think it ISN'T a stricture. However, asomething is causing that. If it continues, have your doctor, not an ER guy, do a work up.

Nope, not really any pain, which is weird for me. Usually with flares, I get the LRQ pain, but not much this time around, and not at all with this latest saga.

I had both an X-ray and CT scan while at the ER, both of which turned up nothing (I was concerned about an obstruction at the time). I'm waiting for a call back from my GI's office tomorrow.

Thanks for the help!

Well, it's been nearly a week since I've been able to hold down a substantial amount of solid food. I'm estimating I've eaten between 1500-2000 calories in the past 6 days, plus whatever liquids I'm drinking.

Here's the fun part: My GI's out of the country until August 2nd, so his staff told me to call the GI on duty to try and get some advice. Did that, he said that he'd set me up for an upper endoscopy in the next couple days. When I called back to see when the appointment was for, they told me it's scheduled for August 29th.

I don't really know what else to do. I know that when my GI gets back, he'll be more than willing to see me, and he'll get me in within a few days, but that leaves me with another week to not eat.

What I've been trying to do is have Jamba Juice, which isn't the best for you, but at least it's getting some calories, vitamins, and protein into my body. I've thought about protein shakes, but I'm not sure what kind to get.

Does anyone else have liquid suggestions so that I can still function a little bit for the next week?

There's a product that is designed for Crohnies. It is called Absorb Plus. Here's a link: http://www.imixnaturals.com/absorb/mix_usage/usage.asp
I hope that this is not considered spamming!

Have you tried adding some Ensure or Boost to your diet? Hey I do the Jamba Juice when I am not feeling well too. They seem to just help me to get something in my system. Have you tried getting in to see your family doc in the meantime, until your GI returns? Maybe they can help somehow? Good luck and keep us posted.
