I saw my Internist today, because I have not been feeling well and I don't get to see the GI until next month, and I got a copy of my small capsule report.  Anyhow, I have Crohn's both in my small and large bowel.  It sounds like I have Crohn's throughout nearly all of my small bowel.

Anyhow, I was wondering how many of us have it in both places?

Thanks a bunch!

I think the figure is something like 20% only in the colon, about the same only in the small bowel and a majority with Crohns activity in both segments, most usually in the terminal ileum (the last foot or so of the small bowel) and the cecum (the first foot or so of the colon. So it is more common than not to have it in both. Yuor CE sure points to a lot of small bowel involvement, so your new meds sound appropriate.

My crohn's started 28 years ago at the terminal ileum, have had 3 bowel resections since due to recurrent crohn's at the resection site. I also have severe perianal crohn's c/w abscesses and fistulas.

Yep I have it in the area MikeB described, terminal ileum and cecum. Although I have had two resections and no longer have those parts.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 32 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec 60 mg, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and doing tests to see if I have Inflammatory Arthritis or AS.

I have had it in the small, large, rectom and anus all at once my first couple of yrs of having CD, since then it's gone from the small, stayed constant in the colon (aka; crohn's colitis) and anus (with perianal crohn's skin tags) and has come and gone in the rectom (proctitis) over my entire 17 yrs now.

Suspected, but not yet confirmed. Next go round, I'm going to ask for the Pill Cam myself. I have to know. Right now, only colon is confirmed..

yeah i had my scope. i didnt post the results? i hope it didnt slip my mind.

ok, things went down in mid june, so it has been what, like 5-6 weeks? anyhoo, doc said things looked good. disease is not spreading. still some mild disease at the resection points from the surgery in 05 that they left in. still a stricture in the rectum/anus area that has some inflammation, but he said things looked good and to continue with what i am doing. that was very encouraging seeing how i've been off my meds since halloween 07, so for like 8 months. i'll take that. score one (so far) for diet!
