Hey all...Ive been kinda MIA but Im back.

I started Humira about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Had the first 4 shots. Monday I had 2 shots. Im getting really sick. like I have the worst cold and want to sleep constantly.

with Remicade I never got sick, if so, rarely.....but with Humira the first and this time....like 2-3 days after taking it...the same thing.

anyone else deal with this..kinda irritating

and where it was helping the Crohns I thought...now all my D has come back with the pain in the morning and my right knee feels about to fall off from the pain (but MRI and XRAY showed unremarkable results) Im VERY FRUSTRATED......any advice

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength

Diagnosed with severe Crohn's colitis in May 2005--spread to ileum and small intestine as of April 2008. Have taken Imuran, Remicade, TPN, Colozal, Entocort, Flagyl, PamineForte, Cipro, Dicyclomine, Prednisone, Asacol, Prevacid, and the list goes on. Currently on Remicade every 8wks, 40mg Pred, Pentasa.

Humira will lower your immune system so you can catch things more easily. Is it possible that you have caught a bug both times around the time you were having your injections? Just a thought.

When I get sick now I do get sicker with whatever I get than the next person as a general rule. For example if my kids and I get a cold all around the same time, I get it the worst. Last year strep throat was going around at the school where I teach. I got it very badly and then got the scarlet fever rash along with it. No one else got that part of it.

For me Humira has put me into my first ever remission after over 15 years of dealing with this disease. So, to me, the occasional bad colds and etc. are worth it. Sorry you feel so bad. I hope you are better soon.

Remicade to Humira. I try to stay away from people with cold etc. ... I went from working in the school system to working from home.
