Okay so I took it up with my GI who says after 6 wks if no better, he will refer me to an orthopedic. (sp?)

My right knee has progressively gotten worse, hurts all the time/movement or no movement. Worse with certain movements though. Nothing helps it, not steriods, not Humira...and Ive had a xray and a MRI and both showed nothing....so primary care physician said..oh its the Crohns and when my flare clears up then my knee will.

Well Ive been feeling better for 3 weeks now, (cept for the colds) and the knee still hurts bad. Tylenol doesnt touch it, even pain pills (lortab) only slightly help it. What the !bleep! is it?

How can a knee hurt so bad but show nothing at all? any clues? any ideas?

ps: Ive been trying to do more exercise lately, cuz I quit smoking but the knee makes it sort of impossible to do any aerobic!

Have you seen an orthopedic doc about your knee? I kept having alot of knee problems and about 4 years ago was referred to a ortho doc, he took xrays and said he didn't see anything. I was positive it was a torn meniscus, but he said no. So four years later I finally get a good Rheumy and after many complaints she get a MRI run on my knee. Turns out I was correct and I had a significant tear in my meniscus. But what was also discovered after I saw the ortho and he did more (special ortho-type) xrays was that I had significant wear on my knee bones. He said it was like someone 15 years older than me.

In March 2008 I had a knee scope done to clean up the damage. The knee feels much better now, but in about 10 years I will definetly have to have my knee rebuilt. He told me thats pretty much guaranteed. The Prednisone we use can really damage our bones and I see you have severe Crohns so you might have used it more than I have. But even the amount I have used has already caused damage. Good luck, and I hope you get some relief soon.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 32 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec 60 mg, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and doing tests to see if I have Inflammatory Arthritis or AS.

Please don't think I'm nuts but back in January I was really bad sick and I was having awful pain in both knees. Had to go to ER for it. I went to a Chiropractor and he said he though t he could help me. He has a machine and he puts me back in alignment and the pain goes away. He gave me his cell phone number and I called him on Saturdays and Sundays when the pain would come back and he would see me again and fix the knee pain.
