My symptoms have gotten worse (diarrhea and pain) so Gi says he wants me to come in and get tests done.  He wants me to go on Humira for about 3 months and azasan and go off of the entocort.  Then after 3 months just imuran.  His thinking is the humira will give me imeediate relief.  I was hoping someone could tell me since I have had a daughter with leukemia and blocking TNFs scares me---to death....what else could give me immediate relief.  I mentioned the prednisone to him but he said they don't use that since it is so hard to get off of.  Seems to me in my case it might be the best option.  Anyone else with cancer in the immediate family on TNFs?  Any suggestions of things that work?
Thanks all!

I have cancer in my family and am on Humira (and have taken Remicade and Cimzia).  The way I see it, I would rather be happier and in less pain now and have the slight risk of getting cancer later than being miserable my whole life due to the slight risk.  I guess you just have to pick your poison.

Crohn's Disease, Acid Reflux/Gastritis, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Endometriosis, Arthritis, Depression/Anxiety.  Too many meds to list them all.  =)
