hey guys. went back to my gi doc on friday. he did a partial colonoscopy in june when i started having all my problems and found ulcerative proctitis (uc of rectum) which a biopsy confirmed and put me on asacol. since i am still having pain, and its mostly on my right side, he is going to do full colonoscopy. he said something about it could be crohns with it hurting there, but i am confused because of the ulcerative proctitis. can you have both crohns and uc????

it was actually an emergency situation as he was trying to determine if i needed to be hospitalized. i was having severe rt sided pain, fever, bloody stools.... :( my brother has uc so i think he was relieved when he saw the ulcerative proctitis and decided to treat me and see if it would get better

My friend had UC and had all of the surgies that go along with it and then ended up being diagnosed with Crohn's a couple of years later (she actually had both, the UC diagnosis wasn't a mistake).

Crohn's Disease, Acid Reflux/Gastritis, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Endometriosis, Arthritis, Depression/Anxiety.  Too many meds to list them all.  =)
