Will take next round of Cimzia tomorrow (Aug.6). First 400 Mgs. work 3 or 4 days with some swelling of ankles (beleive this to be water retention) & sore joints when in gym, however first 3 or 4 days were great. Ate well, lots of energy, all good. Does anybody know if this is normal for first round to last only few days? Will it take 2 or 3 times before remission?
Had all but 2 ft. of colon removed in March 08. They resection small int. between upper & bottom halves of colon. Anybody ever have this done? Work for about 2 months and started recovering then got sick again.

Hi! Welcome!

I'm not going to be much help...I haven't had to have surgery yet. I was on the Cimzia trial. It didn't work for me and I ended in a flare. Best of luck to you and hopefully someone with a better answer will come along soon!

baaer, I was also on a clinical trial for Cimzia but it did for for me.  However, a few days before I was due for my next shot, I would be hurting again. Mine normally worked for a about a week (took a few days to kick in), but there were times it seemed to work less.  The trial nurse told me that no one on the trial here showed 100% response all of the time; they had good weeks but also some bad weeks in there.  I'm on Humira now and the one time I felt great, it lasted for 10 days.  It hasn't made me feel great other than the one time.  So, I would give the Cimzia a few more times before making a decision.  Hope it works well for you!

Thanks for encouragement! 10 days is better than what I have now so I will give it at least the first 3 induction treatments.
Yeah Kasper, If anybody knows how important protein is It's me. It's pretty much what I'm living on right now, that with some good slow digesting carbs for energy. 50 grams Whey morning, 50 grams noon, 25 grams pre-workout with slow digesting carbs, 50 grams post workout with fast digesting carbs & then 50 grams of casein slow digesting protein just before bed. With that and alot of chicken & tuna I've put the 50 or so lbs back on I lost before & after surgey. If you like I will post my rescipe for protein bars. No cooking, just mixing right comb. of peanut butter, honey, Whey protein & Oats.
Again Thank's for the Info. Also If anybody wants to google low dose Naltrexone 4.5 MG. tell me what you think. Might be something worth taking.
