I was reading today that Entocort can give you side effects (weight gain) similar to those of prednisone.  Has anyone here who has taken this drug had this happen?
It is so discouraging...I need to lose weight and I am trying really hard.  I am almost off the oral prednisone and reading this really put a damper on my day... sad

When I was first given this in Feb. 07 I was told it was bowel specific no noticeable side effects like Pred. But for me I noticed weight gain, swelling and a terrible case of acne on my face. Ended up having resection 5/07 and did well till 5/08. Like a bad dream CD has come back again. Had to start entocort again along with whole serious of other stuff and Humira and same side effects have occurred again. Steroid is a steroid I guess.

So know how you feel. Good luck and hang in there.

I used Entocort in the past. I had way fewer side effects than with Pred. I actually liked it much better. It just takes longer to kick in.

My daughter has been on Entocort for more than two years. On only one pill daily since May 2007. No side effects that we can see now, and in remission.

I have had some minor side effects...I have grown some lovely blonde peach-fuzz type hair along my jawline. My fiance claims he can't see it, but I sure can :-(

I was on entocort earlier this year. It was only okay for the CD. However, I have fibromyalgia & osteoarthritis. The amount of bone, joint, muscle pain entocrt caused was on a scale of 1-10, easily a 9 1/2. It got to the point where I could barely function there was such a huge amount of body pain. Doubt I will use it again.
