Welcome to Healingwell. Sorry you have the Crohns diagnosis though. I have had two resections myself and I do agree with your doctor that life is different after a resection. I personally really watch my diet closely. One thing you can do is start a food diary. Keep track how foods affect you and eliminate the foods that cause you problems. Everyones Crohns diet is different, so you will have to figure out what is good/bad for you. I stay away from raw veggies, red meat, only eat well cooked veggies (so there like mush). I eat alot of chicken, fish and turkey. I eat baked potatoes, but not the skins. You shouldn't eat the peels of fruits or veggies, seeds or nuts. Those are hard to digest. Thats just a few suggestions I can think of.

As for the constipation, I personally take stool softners every night at bedtime, they help to keep things moving.

No problems with your English at all, so don't worry about that. My husband is Mexican so I actually understand alot of spanish, don't speak it as well, but do understand most of it. Once again welcome and keep posting any questions you have.

God Bless,
Gail *Nanners*

Hey, read your post. I am 41 years old. I was diagnosed with CD in 2005 and also had my ileum removed and some more in 2006.  I've trying really hard to get used to living with CD. It's hard! Work is hard, eating, and staying positive! Now I'm fighting with arthruitis after being on Prednisone for over a year. I loved Prednisone! I think it's one of the few times in my life I felt normal ...like other people. The side effects do suck though!

The Doctors had me on a low residue diet for quite a while after surgery. Such as ....jello, white rice, white bread, white potatoes, chicken broth, white flour crackers, things that are really really easy to break down in your digestive system.  Taking Milk of Magnessium will help settle/comfort your stomach but does nothing for constipation and/or blockage or CD.  When you get blockage a person will go liquid but still has blockage! It is painful!  Truth is that the Docotr did remove what was bad in 2002...but if you look at this web site you will see many CD patients have many surgerys. It may be time to get another look at what is going on up there. Be your own Doctor and research as much as you can about it. Then tell your Docotors what you want! And ask to see a Nutritionist. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the Advices

Im currently on a liquid Diet and yogurt and for the past 3 days i feel much better,  but the constipation still worst, the weard thing is that i don't have any pain at all and blood test apear to be good, im takin Asacol 12 capsules a day, Inmuran 4 capsulea a day, Folic Acid & Fish Oil and when i feel heartburn i take prevacid.

Is there a Natural Treatment for CD that works?   i try to search natural Medications for the condition and i don't find something for me because all treatment is full of Fiber and Fiber Block Me.

im Worried about all medication and Inmuran (i heard that it can cause Cancer)

Thanks
for messages

Have you tried doing one of the preps they use for colonoscopy. That might help to get you cleaned out. I don't think you have an obstruction at this point, you would have alot of pain if you did. As for other natural medicines to try the only other I can suggest is to take a good probiotic. The Probiotics help to even out the bacteria in our intestines. Good luck!

Try reading "And They Said It Wasn't Possible" by Karen Hurd. At Amazon.com.....Great Book! It has alot of information about Autoimmune Disease and some really awesome nutrition benefits that are natural. Highly recommend it!
My brother has M.S. also AutoImmune. He has resorted to Bee Stings for inflammation. Works for him. There is information on line about this also.
Eating Yogurt is a dairy. Dairy is hard to break down. The good bacteria is good for you but, watch out for dairy. Try Miralax over the counter. It is pretty mild and might get you going again. Try taking a good walk. Even though you may not feel like moving around alot walking is always good for the digestive system.
I have been on Imuran for a little over 3 years. I'm scared of the effects.

Very good Fitzy. I understood all that you wrote. I understand spanish, but am not really good at speaking (probably being a chicken). I have 3 sister-in-laws who do not speak English and I am able to communicate with them no problem, just chicken to speak to others:) Just wanted to give you the props, GOOD JOB!

aw thanks nanners. I lost so much of my spanish speaking skill when I moved to Maine. I was using it a lot more in Mass. It has been about 4 years since I have spoken it. I'm already pointing out my mistakes. Otrio should have been otro. That was just a typo. But I bet it should say dias buenas y dias malas but I'm not sure lol.

I understand the whole chicken thing. My boss speaks like 5 languages, and is more or less fluent in spanish but I am way to chicken to speak with him on a daily basis in spanish. Also, my best friend and his family are columbian. While I could understand them speaking in spanish I always responded in english.

But I got so good that at one point I was dreaming in Spanish. That is cool.
