Ugh--my scope is tomorrow so I cannot eat all day, its only 1:00 that means 24 more hours of not eating! I am a small girl, 100 pds 5'5 and need to eat! I guess I will just keep chomping gum. This is suppose to be the easy part too!

Yes, I remember the hunger would come a few hours after the prep and bathroom trips. A suggestion: don't chew gum if you are hungry. Chewing gum stimulates salivation which in turn stimulates your stomach. You are actually making yourself hungrier.  Just a thought. Good luck tomorrow!

My doc allowed me to have clear hard candies and I think popsicles as long as they weren't red. Find out if you can. It helps to get a little sugar in and feel like you are eating. I'm not sure if jello is considered liquid or solid for prep purposes but if you can have jello its another semi food to fool you into being full.
26 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

I hope by the time you read this your scope will be over and you will have had a good meal. I am diabetic and when I prep for a scope there is no way I can go without something that long. Doc has few answers for that so I have my own. I buy chicken soup , strain it well , and drink the broth. Dont buy just broth,,its tasteless. I have not had a doc complain because I was not properly preped.

hard candies are good as long as theyre not red/orange/etc and you dont chew them. jolly ranchers, etc.

My parents and I have made a tradition of going out to eat after my scopes, usually at Panekoeken.

Sniper - that must be really rough. Good advice there. In the future I wonder if you could get an IV "feed back" to keep up your nutrients and sugar levels. I'm not sure if that would involve a hospital stay but it would be better than going into diabetic shock/coma.

I used Jello (which I have not had since) and lots of broth with some spices added in... it almost felt like food at least my tummy was full for a little bit.

Your scope is probably done by now... so I hope you did well.

good luck!
