Hi guys, I go in around 1:00....the problem is I am still having to go to the bathroom! Is this normal?  Also how long does this enema last...I am going to eat right after the procedure, should I be near a bathroom? sad

I have still been having bm's after I arrived at the hospital for colonoscopies...every person is different so there is no guarantee on time to be "cleaned out". I never had issues after a procedure and I almost always eat something ASAP!

GOODLUCK!

Good luck to you! I was still going that morning of as well. I went home and ate a BIG meal, no problems at that point at all.

If the remaining stool is liquid, which it likely is, they can sometimes clean you out with their colonoscopy "instruments." I believe they have the ability to suction some out if necessary.

an enema is just a tube up your bum, and then they fill you up with water. it's to clean it out, and the urge to go is instant. i can't imagine why they'd do one after your scope though. theyre usually done if you werent able to finish your prep, clean you out for the scope.
