Well, it didn't go too bad. Still hasn't painted a rosy picture for me....

If I get pain, I have to immediately go onto fluids only. If after a few hours it doesn't subside I must go to the ER. The reasoning
behind this is to not let the pancreas take anymore punishment.

My triglyceride levels are of concern, because they're doing much of the damage...Problem is, I really don't know what else to do
about it. I eat only low fat, I take the highest dosage of Tricor there is. As far as he's concerned it's all in the genes. I guess I pulled
the short straw.

So I will go for another lengthy batch of blood work, he's even checking my ANA. Then I get a ultra sound done on the 29th. Boy the
fun never stops.....

Hi Vicky Glad you got your appointment in and at least your getting closer as to what to do about things. Sounds like he's through and knows what he's doing. Hoping this will get you on the road to feeling better. Liquids hmm sounds like some of the treatment we get for CD. ll gail

Well don't know whether to say that sucks or what???? It does sound like he is a very thorough doc. I hope that ol pancreas doesn't give you any problems. Good luck!

Hi Vicky,

Pancreas pain is awful! I know someone whose pancreas shut down for a while. He was very ill but things got better slowly. Now a year and a half later he is much better and enjoying life!! He said he has to watch closely, which sounds like what your Dr. said. Hang in there!!.
Diagnosed early 2007 with rectal Crohn's.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulas with setons.  No other symptoms.
Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP.

I'm sorry Vicky, that really does stink. What fun things for you to do, go on a liquid diet, and then the ER when that doesn't work. My Aunt has had two of those attacks, and landed her in the hospital both times. Sounded very painful, so my heart goes out to you. Heres hoping it doesn't give you any trouble!

Dunny, my doc put me on Creon and shut my pancreas down for a year so it could rest and heal. It was not hard to get by on the creon pills. Dont give up. Also if your doc say ERCP EDU or any other test that does ultrasound from down your throat make sure you need it . I had three such procedures done all at one time. The dye used caused the worse case of pancreatitis I ever had and I was is a lot of pain. Good luck with your fight ...

Sniper, I'm taking greon20, but my pancreas isn't going to heal, because it's already scared from 3 acute attacks. They have me
taking greon to help with pain & fatty stools, but it doesn't seam to help much. I will be having the ERCP done, when my triglyceride
levels have dropped. They will give me the sleepy stuff, and then put the scope down, then put a small catheter in my pancreas and
leave that in for about an hour.... Is this what they did to you?

Thanks every one, It's good to know I have someone in my corner, and you can bet I will fight. I wont go down without one....

Yes That sounds like the same test. I was in for a long time. But they also did two other test and I dont know which one used the dye. I was told that the dye is what caused the reaction that made me so sick. I am not sure but I do know if they ever tell me I need those test again they can kiss my ,,,,,The real kicker was I had these test done in New Orleans. A very long drive from where I live and they sent me home after the test. My wife had to drive me home at night ,I was very out of it until the next day. When the pain got bad enough we called the doctor that did the tests and he said to make an appointment with my regulor doctor. Good thing for him he was a few hundred miles away and I was too sick to go kick his butt....I hope all goes better for you. I know we are all diff. so you may have no trouble at all..Good luck.
