Hello All,
This may be off topic, but I wanted to start here since you are all wise with knowledge...much more than I am!  Anyways...as you know I am 27 years old.  I had been on birth control for about 10 years.  I went off in July to start trying to conceive, but then had a flare up.  So, now I'm on entocort and doc says no pregnancies now when I'm not feeling great.  Anyways...here's my question.  I had my period in July (and then didn't start a new pack of pills).  Now, I had my period starting August 4, which was a little late, but figured that was normal because of my body readjusting and it lasted 6 days or so and was kind of light, but not terribly light.  Now I started my period again today with no warning...although I did have some breast tenderness thinking back and a HUGE headache right now.  I also started entocort August 12th. Do you think this is related to the medicine, or my body readjusting to being off the birth control.  And do you think I should call my PCP.  Okay, thanks!  sorry if this is long and confusing...but I am a little nervous!  I just wasn't sure if having 2 periods in one month after going off birth control is normal!
Diagnosed with crohn's in January 2008!
Pentasa 1000 mg 4 times a day
Was on topamax for migraines...off now to try to get pregnant
No longer on Nexium...well now i"m back on it!
On Entocourt for the next 6 weeks to see if I can get out of my flare!

I am 27 years old and have been married for 2 1/2 years.  My husband and I are currently going to try to get pregnant.  This is our first month trying, so wish us luck!!

I agree you should call your doc. But I do think it is your body adjusting to being without the BC. Whenever I was off the Pill I would have very similar problems (without the flare though). Hope things start looking up for you soon.

okay..wierder thing...so when I posted last night I thought my period had started.  When I wiped there was blood and I know it was from that area not others and then I had some brownish-pinkish discharge (sorry TMI) and it's completely gone today.

Its just spotting. I get that too. Sometimes you get it between periods if you are on birth control. I get it when my period is near and I have intercourse. There are a lot of reasons you could get that. Also, sometimes when people conceive they can spot but this is not likely your problem.
26 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

Thanks guys.  I will keep on eye on it for next month and if it happens again I will call my doc.  According to what I read online I shouldn't be too worried about it, unless it continues to happen.
