My Cd has migrated south over the years.  I guess CD doesn't like Western NY snow either blush
I am refusing to go to remicade, Humira or 6mp/imuran at this time.  I would rather treat the localized symptoms.  I will be seeing a new GI in the near future and wanted to address the concept of Entocort with him.  My only life affecting symtpoms are the tearing of my large tags and the irritations in the anal area.
What are your experiences with entocort on tags?
Can you do short bouts of Entocort to treat the symptoms and then stop and start as needed?
Is long term Entocort as dangerous to the bones etc as prednisone?
Any questions about the med I should ask the new doc?
Thanks folks

I've been on entocort for almost a year and half I'm just going off because I chose to take the humira shots. The only side affect I've had is it messes with my adrenal gland and I bruise really ease now. But it really didn't help with the pain anus. I still had a lot of rectal spasm, and some diarrhea, and I always had the feeling like I had to go. What my GI told me was humira takes away the feelings like the spasms and the others and for the most part it works where the entocort didn't. the entocort works on diarrhea. But I know everyone is different and it might not be the same for you. I'd say give it a try. I know the side effects are not as bad and you can stay on long term'

Entocort is most effective for inflammation in the terminal ileum and the ascending (right) colon.  It has very little affect on other areas -- the descending (left) colon, the sigmoid, rectum, or anal areas.  Thus I doubt it will be of much benefit for your anal issues or skin tags.
