The last few days I have had increased BM's and increased urgency.  Today I am just downright sick.  I didn't get halfway through my dinner and I had to run for the bathroom.  I really really hope this is just because of my period.  My cramps feel more like period cramps.  Heck, I even hope it is food poisoning.  I just don't want a flare.  I know no one wants a flare but I am going to be doing a legal aid clinic for 6 of my credit hours and that will include court room time.  Additionaly, it is application time for jobs post school and with applications comes the possibility of interviews.  I know I am stressed but I don't think this is my IBS.  It could be a stressed induced flare.  I was definitely seeing some mucus in the toilet so my hopes that it is just my period are waning.  I'm going to give it the weekend at least before I call the doc because I don't want to hop on the entocort unless I absolutely have to.  Send some healing vibes my way folks!!

Oh, and I took Monday off from work to move my brother into college.  He is going to school 20 minutes from my house which is a big deal since I live 2 states away from my family.  But he is on the third floor and my dad has COPD and my mom has an orthopedic boot to prevent an achilles rupture and she has lyme disease.  I had been feeling great and was going to be the one to do all the moving with him. We were just going to get the parents up the stairs one time.  I hope I am well that day.  At least it is so close to my house I can come home if I need to, and there are tons of bathrooms on campus.  But still.  Stress.  Yuck.

I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

I'm so sorry that's happening!! I really hope it's just period related too..please please please rest and get better. That's such a terrible feeling to anticipate studies knowing that you're not in the proper health..not that I need to tell you that obviously. I hope you get to feeling better soon! You'll be in my thoughts.
I'm sure you'll do really well in your endeavors. I think people in our position have the tendency to work hard simply because of what is going on, and it sounds like you're really serious about it.

Here's hoping its just related to the coming period. Fitzy do you take anything for anxiety? I was thinking maybe you could try taking some of that to calm your nerves. Maybe all the stress of school, moving your brother etc is causing some anticipatory anxiety and causing some gastric issues. I know that is how it affects me. Just a thought! (((HUGS)))

Hi Fitzy,

I came on to ask you a question and saw this post...

I am so sorry you feel this awful...Unfortunately, I do too, was in the ER on Wednesday unable to move my arms and legs...I won't even go into that nightmare...

What I wanted to ask you is that I thought I recalled you mentioneing you liked your GI...Would you mind sharing who it is???

I  am fearful that come Monday I will not have a choice but to trust another...Everything I am doing is not working...This 'flare' came on after hubby had 2 seizures, my oldest boy (black lab) was dx with bone cancer and my periods just don't get along with the left-sided colitis...Stress MUST play a Major role...

I have lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks and am freezing after each meal...

Started Colazal again just 10 minutes ago but hubby thought I should hold off on the pred being my adrenals are likely taxed as of now...Please Colazal work...

I was thinking about your Mom too and then see your brother and father are dealing with 'stuff'...

Hope you were able to enjoy some of this nice weather, I have been stuck inside just barely able to make it to the deck for my well needed vitamin D charge...Geez, this illness is more than challenging, it's downright evil at times...

Hoping Monday comes fast for both of us and things turn for the better...I am having such a hard time with a GI, 1)due to the trust issue so its nice to have a referral 2)then the traveling issue...I am nauseous just sitting up...

Okay, won't bother you with all my  crap...

Peaceful days ahead~MamaDove

Hey MamaDove - I see Dr. xxxx in xxxxxx. I really like him and feel he listens to me. But my husband sees him for IBS and feels he kind of gets a brush off. But his colonscopy and blood tests came back clean so there isn't too much they can do for him. I like him because he is willing to stick to the lower level medications as long as they work and is not quick to move up the ladder. I also have been told by two different doctors that I may someday need surgery for my acid reflux. But unlike my old doc he is not at all rushing into that. Even though I have used up most of the prescription drugs he has me on a combo of protonix and zantac to manage it for now in an effort to avoid surgery. That I like!

Don't worry too much about me. I am doing ok. My brother is super healthy and even though my parents are facing medical issues they are old lol. My dad is 72 and worked with dangerous chemicals for a lot of his life. He is not at all surprised he has COPD. And he doesn't have it that bad.

Let me know when you have read this and I will edit out the doctors name and town. I don't like to give too much info on here but you didn't have your email listed. That doc might be too far of a drive for you though. I have been very lucky as all my doctors in xxxx have been great. I have even had luck with the hospital here and had nothing but great care. We are trying to sell our house to move to xxxxx but I think I will keep the doctors.  We live closer to xxxxx now than xxxx but it has been worth the drive to keep the docs.

Mama Dove, where do you live? I know Fitzy lives in Maine. I do too. I see a gi in the Portland area but its mostly the NP I see. So, if you would prefer seeing an NP for maintenance that's an idea. I know she confers with the doc beccause I can't make an appt to see her unless the doctor is in the office. I'm very satisfied. E-mail me if you would like to know the name of this doctor
10 years, many tests, 3 gi doctors, Pentasa 1000mg 3x day
diovan, simvastatin, levothyroxine, sertraline, lyrica, methotrexate, down to 2.5mg prednisone and miserable.

Mamadove the LDN isn't working for you anymore? Did you ever get up to the recommended dosage? I was so hopeful that this would be the answer for you. Sorry to hear about all you have had to deal with lately, will definetly keep you and yours in prayers. (((HUGS)))

Fitzy did you ever figure out if you are flaring or are you feeling better now? Just wondering how you are doing.

Thanks for asking Nanners. I am feeling a lot better today. I am hoping it was just my period.
