I didn't want to hijack the other post so I thought I would make a new post.  On the Iron Infusion, how long after you got it did you feel a difference?  I am slightly anemic and can't take iron supplements and am not able to eat many iron enriched foods becuz I have to live on a low residue diet.  I really would like to feel some relief from this fatigue.  Thanks for your help.  Anyone else with iron infusions experience I would like to hear your thoughts also.

I noticed a difference after about a week, but still really tired.

It's been a while since the infusion, but from what I distinctly remember, the relief was almost immediate. It was like I could feel my body going "AHhhhhh, yesssssss" while the iron dripped in to the IV. I remember being a little sore around the infusion sight, but in general I felt a vitality that had long eluded me.

It's terrible to say, but I have secretly "hoped" several times since my iron infusion that if anything was wonky with my bloodwork that it would be me needing more iron! It was such an easy "fix"... but now I guess my cast iron cooking skills have allowed me to skip any further iron infusions... which ALMOST makes me sad. :-)

Crossing my fingers for ya.

I had an iron infusion (Venofer) in early July. I felt better in about a week. Within three weeks my ferratin went from 4 to 116 and my hemoglobin from 11.3 to 11.6. Unfortunately I just found out that my ferratin is back down to 12 already.
Dx'ed in 1999. No surgeries.

Current meds: 75 mg 6MP. 3mg prednisone (trying to taper). Udo's Choice Probiotics (30 billion).
