I know many of us have this issue as well. My colo-rectal doc said my fissure did heal but now I have hemmie tissue. He gave me recta-gel to put on the area. There is no typical bulge in 1 area like you would expect. The area there is so itchy I even told the doc it feels like a yeast infection does ...but obviosly in a diff area. yesterday they bled more than normal. It is not to the point where I need protection in my underwear but enough to stain the inside area in about a 2 inch radius. I dont know what else to do the cortizone in the topical ointment nor the lidocaine is helping...At times the itch is the most annoying. any tips?

I thankfully have been feeling pretty well. My most recent labs were perfect. I do still have loose vms anywhere from 2-10 times a day but at least it sinks now and the docs think it is since i only have 1/4 of my colon left. I have lomotil to use on bad days but when I do I find that because I am not going I have more pain and bloating. I also have Bentyl for cramping which I dont know if it helps much...again that is PRN. I find my stomach is most uncomfortable at night. The doc cleared me for all foods including corn and popcorn. I find I can tolerate those now but dont have either very often. I can no longer handle baked beans even with beano...I have become allergic to Dilaudid now though. well since I am posting via my cell I am not going to type more...to hard to do.
