So Im 7 months post op 63cm bowel resection. My CD went from bad to worse after the surgery. I have been Pred dependant ever since. I started Humira 6 weeks ago and have gotten worse....Still on 30 of PRED
Last night I woke up with the worst pain in my life I thought I had perfed again. I called my GI this morning who of coarse was not in the office and the NP sent me for a STAT CT scan.
CT Scan prior to surgery 7 months ago showed CD at the T. Illieum
CT Scan today shows distended small bowel loop in the mid left abdomen, small bowel obstruction in the left mid abdomen, thickened folds in hte right mid abdomen, thickened folds in the right lower abdomen. And kidney stones to boot!!
Does this mean the CD has spread throughout my bowel?
The NP called My doc and he feels I need a surgical consult. I go back tomorrow to see him. Im afarid because the diseased portions are so spread out they will have to remove a ton of bowel.........
Also, I have an appointment Thursday to be screened for Prochymal Clinical Trial Any suggestions?

thats not the case if you have a good dr. it could be temp swelling of the bowel which may go away on its own. distended bowel could be just gas build up. as long as your still going or passing gas you do not have a complete blockage. thickend may be some edema from the swelling . CT scans are not the be-all see-all for crohns. i would bet they will want a barium xray set soon. hey good luck

Oh My goodness, Lots of things going on there.Hopefully, if you do have further surgery, they can get away with just removing the
obstructed area...
I wish you a whole lot of luck, let us know how you get on!!

Hi Sounds like your not doing so great are you passing any gas or stool? I don't know if it has spread but am hoping things will get better for you. Any chance that some of it could be a mechancial obstruction perhaps things got twisted up a little. Hang in there. Maybe some of the areas are small that are effected. Let us know how you do tomorrow. lol gail
