I was just wondering if any of you experience pain in the abdomen only by touching it? I can't tell if it's because I have been overworking my body and my muscles are just sore OR if I am experiencing pain from something a little bit deeper. It only feels sore when I press on it, but the pain is significant and I can't tell if there is a knot in the muscle in the lower let quadrant or if my intestines are acting up. I have been incorporating more food into my diet lately so that might have something to do with it..but I've noticed an improvement in my general condition in that I have more energy, am more mobile, stools are less frequent, pain is much less frequent, and I eat a LOT more--wretched prednisone..I don't weight much still, but I'm starting to look a little bit pregnant and my face is definitely rounder. Retaining something but it definitely is not fat...
Anyway, I feel better, but I worry that there might be some damage going on that I simply am not aware of yet. I don't want to wake up one day and have an stricture/simple obstruction or something of that nature. Speaking of which, are there any tell tale signs of those that I need to look out for?
I have an appointment with my GI next Wednesday, but how I am feeling and how my body looks is changing rather quickly so I'm a little bit worried. Anyway, any advice/experience would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

When I am really active (Crohn's-wise) I sometimes get a "knot" like spot over on my right side. It's tender to the touch also and noticeable from the outside. Not sure if it's technically a "mass" or not, but it's as if it's inflamed to the max. It seems to last a week or two.

I forgot to mention I can feel it on the abs as well which is what makes me wonder about whether or not it is simply muscular fatigue..
Has your doctor said anything about the knots you get or is it just a wait-until-it's-gone sort of thing??

My abdomen is always very tender to teh touch. I have the ahbit of always keping my hands, or arms over my abdomen to protect it. I also have what my dr calls a hard spot. I figure it's my stricture they feel. So, you're not alone.

I'm always holding my abdomen too heh. It does seem to help in walking around.
Did your doctor specify stricture or did he simply say hard spot???

My abdomen gets tender a lot of times too. It seems to go with the flaring. You should always mention it to your doctor so they can evaluate and make sure it's not something that needs immediate treatment. I hope you're feeling better soon.

My abs are always tender too, I don't like to wear any jeans or elastic waist pants, I just prefer comfy sweats so I won't have any pressure on the tummy.

LMills, he did not specifically say stricture. I do have one, so I'm only making an assumption that this is what he is feeling!
