My tounge is killing me!! There does not appear to be a sore but it is a bit red on the surface. Could this be the Humira or Prednisone?

Also, I been consulted to see a Dr. Valentine at SHANDS in gainsville fl. Anybody bee there?

Google this --   John F. Valentine, M.D Crohn's   -- Seems Very impressive. Actual recent research...

Hi red...don't know about your symptoms. I'm so sorry you are having issues.

After I googled the doctor you mentioned and read about his treatment, I thought it sounded very familiar. Here is what I'd read in the past. I actually spoke with the woman featured in the first article:

http://outlook.wustl.edu/summer2003/crohnsdisease.html

http://aladdin.wustl.edu/medadmin/panews.nsf/0/2850468F5C7967B58625700D0052BE29

There are more articles about those doctors' research if you care to read more.

So sargramostim is Leukine. And if I'm understanding correctly it is also GM-CSF. Interesting....

I wish you the best! Maybe this will do the trick!

A sore "beefy red tongue" could be B12 deficiency which you will be prone to having had a resection.

Hmmmm....I get injections 2cc month. Maybe time to get my levels checked again.
It looks like it could be a side effect of candida as well.....

That research is hard to read...lol. idea

I've been taking 5000mcg Methylcobalamin sublinguals from Jarrows, 4xday and one Adenosylcobalamin 3000mcg 1xday.  They seem to be working as verified by symptom reduction...My understanding is that once you supplement a plasma B12 level is not diagnostic, ie in the blood does not necessarily mean it gets to the tissues that need it.
