Hello all, im getting into all this forum malarky  and i just found this one .. im sort of 30 ish but also very nearly 40 ish . diagnosed crohns when i was 17, gut aches squirts n all that you know the form, spent nearly 20  years in n out of hospital ive had all kinds a stuff in my time . i had a temp iliostomy when i was about 22/23. i  had that for about a year. then reversed.you name the place ive had an abcess or fistula there . bakside groin scrotum under arms  loads of em. then a few years ago it go so bad i had to have the permanant colstomy , it was all to diseased. .  ive had loads of opps loads of times where ive had to tuff it out you coukld say. dig in and wait for fings to heal. or not as the case may be..

i even caught Septicemia once when i was in, things where bad enough with out that (thanks kings college)  that was a good few years ago i think they clean up a little bit now.
so what wiv all that lot i know a little about feeling like s--t. and one thing ive learnt is dont let it win. ive met many people in hospital with conditions  far worse than i have ever been but they have the abilyty to laugh a little, they take it seriosly of course but if you can laugh a bit it shows your in controll. ive also meet people who to be honest havnt got much wrong at all who sit with there heads in there hands, and i think your not in controll its in controll of you. easy for me to say i guess im a twenty yearer and i wasnt allways in controll but eventually i won the war . still slightly on going but the the Blitzkrieg has been well and trully halted. i guess this is just one or two pointers ive learnt . maybe i shouldnt say this but if its liiness or ostomy or both there will be people who will hold it against you. but you know **** them ******s . there are many who wont.  and onother litle point  oh yes oh yes ! it can be difficult for family and loved ones to see you ill . i know when your ill evryone thinks they know wats best for you, but of course they dont really. but its not there fault . ive jumped down a few throats in my time  when i wished they would just leave me to do it my way cos my way is best.but i wish i had not.  remember people are tring to help you have to make allounces  i guess.

for people thinking ill never do this or that again  well one thing i allways thought i could never do what with all the abbcesses in my back side and groin is ride a bike-- im now doing 200 miles a week on a racer (if anybody finds a pump its mine)

some times things seem like one step foreward and two back, as long as your in controll your get there.................

well i was thinking liverpool from some of your language used. my second guess was gonna be east london! now this is all from my limited experiance watching english TV programs or "programmes" as you would say. i love "eastenders" "coronation street" and a couple others, like "my hero" cant stand "dr who" though. plus i used to have a neighbor from blackpool, god i could not under stand her for nothing! like she had a mouthfull of bangers and mash!

i aint watched eastenders since Nick Cotton left. and yeah i could never quit get this dr who thing.. i think i only watch old sit coms . faulty towers, fools n horses, steptoe n son (i love steptoe) most of the new stuff is crap ... "waking the dead" thats good if you get the chance to see it.. and of course the English we re gluttens for punishment , and we have to watch when England play . its the law! but then we won the other day so i guess were world beaters again .. mmmm

Hi Nodol and welcome. I like some of the english programs too. As Randy says, it takes a while to get the hang of the accent. Guess we are two countries divided by a common language.
If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.
