So the last few weeks, I have been dealing with a UTI and a general feeling that something else is going on "down there"

Of course, being completely neurotic, I wanted to do my own "exam" ...well, my loving, patient and humorous fiance held up a mirror for me as I "searched" for the source of my problem. Bless his heart, he even held up a flashlight, so I could see better. The whole scene was hilarious.

I should say that I knew he was the man for me long before this incident, although this reaffirmed it. about a month into dating, I was so sick of having to run to the bathroom to pass gas, so I finally told him I had Crohn's and that I have a tendency to have a lot of gas. He told me to go ahead and fart- he didn't care. I told him I would feel better if he did it first and he said "do you mean right now?" and I said "Yes" - At that moment, the man I am going to spend the rest of my life with, farted on command to make me feel comfortable :-) Priceless

What are your favorite stories like this?

This is a great post....We have a 38ft trailer at a campground that I do my best to feel well enough that we can all go for at least the weekend.  Well my husband knows that the one thing that I can't stand about it is that with the bathroom you feel that you have no privacy, you can hear everything so when I give him that "look" he will gather the kids together and start singing songs very very loudly....LOL it is so sweet and then I don't feel so bad using the bathroom....

Oh what great stories...

My kids do stuff like that for me. I can fart and we have code names for them when in public so no one knows what is going on. They are boys so they think it is funny Mom farts.

Hubby has gone as far as breaking the Chron's news to his family for me so I did not have to repeat it over and over again. that was awesome! I was getting sick of questions cause I was still not that familiar with the disease myself.

Not really funny but, last night my daughter wanted to drop one of her classes. She is a freshman in college and living away. It finally came out that it is public speaking and today was the day that she had to give her first speech. So she called me this afternoon to tell me that she got through it! I asked what she said, and she said she didn't remember, it was only 90 seconds, but she just said a bunch of stuff about me being strong about my illness and being in the hospital and stuff. So I said I was glad that my Crohn's was good for something, and we had a good laugh.

I have lots of gas too and sometimes it is especially bad - lift the wallpaper off the walls bad. If this happens while we are out shopping or with other people, I get really embarrassed so my husband will say 'excuse me' or let people know that it was him not me. He is often proud of 'his' farts - other guys are so impressed with him!

Now that's true love in my book :)

My now husband (then boyfriend) helped me change the bandages for my post-fistula surgery "canyon-in-my-butt" gaping wound in the middle of the woods. I was determined to still go on my camping/canoeing trip 2 weeks after the surgery but still had to change the bandage every few hours or I'd start to feel horrible. So off we went at a stop and he changed the gauze and re-packed my butt cheek canyon. And he married me anyway :-P

Well rather than nice things here is a mean thing I like to do... let a really stinky one rip in the aisle of the grocery store, turn to my husband a few seconds later and loudly say "couldn't you do that in the bathroom?" LOL
26 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

Oh Fitzy...that's just mean! LOL! But oh so good!

Okay back to topic, my husband applies my steriod creams in my mid-back region (no I did not say mid-butt region) when I get scaly psorasis breakouts that I can't reach.

He made sure I didn't have a knee-jerk reaction and kept me from withdrawing my Humira needle to early when I was learning to self inject the syringes.

Poor guy gets deserted every time we enter Walmart to shop. I usually have to go to the restroom and whatever one I pick is usually being cleaned at the time. Needless to say I have to butt pinch my way to the back of the store to the available bathroom which takes even more time. He's been hanging around the store for 45 minutes at a time. Word of caution here ladies, don't let him have the credit cards or checkbook when this happens though!

They are not really funny things but they sure are nice.  My husband will cut my food up and my sons no matter where we are if my hands hurt really bad.  He also will taste something I want to try first so he can tell me if he thinks I can eat it.  He does all my shots for me because I can't stand the needles.  He just went to the dr with me to be shown how to give a B-12 injection and the nurse was laughing her head off at him abd told him he was cute because of the way he was obsessing over the air bubbles in the syringe.  He is 6 foot 7, 150 pounds, tatooed and a shaved head and there he is, this big "tough" guy, flicking this thing to death because there was a tiny bubble in it.  He wouldn't give it to me until every last one was gone.  The nurse kept telling him it was fine but he told her no it wasn't that he was injecting this into his wife so he was not taking any chances.  It was cute.

Also, maybe it's not so much in the name of Crohn's but my younger sister was trying to be uplifting(she is 9) and her words were:
"If you die before they make a cure and they do make it then I will come and set it on your grave!!"

Gee, thanks Sarah..at least I would have gotten within feet of it.

She really meant the best though so it might be one of the nicest things anyone has said. I really do love her.
