Do any of you know a good place to go and talk about PCOS? I'm having an ultrasound next week to see if I have it. There are so many things wrong with me I think I'm going to die young... do any of you ever think that? It's so depressing.

Edit: my friends are always telling me I'm 'so unhealthy'. It just makes it worse! I don't know how to respond except with, 'I know!'

PCOS is polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Thanks for your kind words, I'm sure that I will! :) Just venting, I guess.

I often feel the same about dying young (Im 44 now). I ask customers at work their age and tell them I ll be lucky to make it that far, but I dont dwell on it too much and try to live my life to the max.
Good luck with your ultrasound I hope all goes well for you

Hey There Meowese,
I was dx with PCOS about four years ago.  It caused some weight gain etc.  The docs put me on metformin to treat it...which my other doc has now taken me off.  Keep your chin up and remember that you are beautiful no matter what.  There is no telling how long or short any of our lives are going to be so just enjoy each day as it comes.  Lots of hugs.

Meowese,

You might post on Diabetes forums, as this is often associated with metabolic disorders and insulin resistance. Good luck to you, and don't give up yet. My daughter who suffers from this does well on noninflammatory diets, as well as the SCD when she has followed that diet with me in the past.
Crohn's for life, symptoms included terrable joint and soft tissue pain, just met first cousin who suffers from Reiters-explains sooo much. Great control on SCD (when I'm good) and I get by with a lotta help from my friends!

Again, thank you all for your responses. I'm having a crappy day today and just feeling super down about everything. Also I will look at the Diabetes board, thanks Margie11.
