Got an invitation from my gastro to schedule a colonoscopy for December. turn   Yeah, sure. It was w/great pleasure that I declined the invitation citing the atrocious tasting preps she serves for her scopes as the reason.

I told her that I was going to accept Mayo's invitation to visit and party instead. Of course, I also told her that if Mayo wasn't serving up anything pallative either, like if the colorectal surgeon and I don't see eye to eye, I'd be leaving that party early and I'd keep her informed. yeah

Then there was a card decorated w/pine boughs and holly w/a gastro on the cover, scope partially hidden behind his/her back, and the caption ""Tis The Season To Look Up Old Friends" and inside your scope date and prep instructions.

That is soooooo sick! In a way that only a Crohnie could appreciate. I think I would decline the invitation too!

I actually called a new gi and asked for a scope asap. I called today (Monday) and am having it this Wednesday, I'm not doing too well right now. A friend picked up my prep for me and it's a gallon jug of powder and citrus berry flavor packets. Not looking forward to drinking that but ya gotta doo what ya gotta doo, hee hee hee.
May the force be with you

Geeeez what a choice...A pain in the butt here or a pain in the butt there.
If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.

I know. I like to have split my gut when I saw that card! I tried to find one for my gastro to use - at least for her "intimate" patients who have had the opportunity to get to know her well enough. Save all of us for December colonoscopies, you know. She has that neat kind of sense of humor which is one of the things I've always liked about her.

Had my last one on 12-22-07. As I do them with no meds, one of the nurses kept tossing chocolate Christmas candy to me while I lay on my side looking at the screen during the biopsies.

LOL!

Did they get rid of the pills? I heard they were banned. They are the only thing I can tolerate...
Crohn's (diagnosed in 2006 and currently in remission), severe migraines, Seborrheic Derm., Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (1994), chronic pain, ulcers/GERD and possibly Fibromyalgia? Medications: Nexium, Pentasa, Percocet and Vicodin as needed, Flintstone Vitamins (my favorite part!), calcium and magnesium supplements, vitamin D once weekly. I follow a low fiber, low residue diet.
